They’ll probably change the rules after this.

I think it may be time to buy a ticket or 50

Why? Seems like it is more successful for them than ever.

I don’t normally play the lottery but when it gets this big I will buy a ticket. Just one. If I am destined to win, that is all I need. 1 to 1 billion are pretty good odds.

Now what will really happen is that there will be multiple winners and the prize will have to be divided, still, it would be more then they have now.

But then sometimes winning a large sum of money can create a lot of problems...maybe I skip buying a ticket. Don’t want to deal with the hassle of having too much money /s

I think a FReepathon Lotto would be a great idea - would be quick and fun!

Another approach for the IRS could be a Lotto. No tax avoiders - just millions of willing participants.

“$1.6 Billion” = about $570 Million in lump-sum payout after Federal taxes.

(Some states - like CA - don’t tax lottery winnings.)

Still, a lot of fun/good/dangerous/evil can be had for $570,000,000...

CALIFORNIA DOESN’T TAX LOTTERY WINNINGS??

Are the Stanley Cup Finals going to be held in Hell next year?

I had two numbers on the last Mega ticket and you don’t get nothin’ for two numbers. If you have three numbers AND the special Mega ball at the end, you get a measly ten bucks.

If I win we won’t have to worry about FReepathons for awhile. Guess I’ll send my home health aide to buy a ticket.

A Baptist parishioner won big, and had to confess to his pastor. “Brother Smith, I confess I won big on the lottery. I know I shouldn’t gamble, but I did.”

He continued, “Now I’m vexed. Should I tithe on these winnings, or since they’re the wages of sin, should I not?”

Brother Smith: “Let me take that tithe, son. The devil’s had it long enough.”

Would a bank allow you to deposit a half billion dollars into your checking account? The least they could do would be to take you out to lunch........

Another approach for the IRS could be a Lotto. No tax avoiders - just millions of willing participants.

According to http://www.lottoreport.com/mm03sales.htm sales for last Tuesday's prize were $210 million. In a typical half week the federal government spends about $40 billion. About half of lottery sales are spend on the prizes so you would need sales about 400 times the current frenzy level to fund the federal government.

Lotteries typically return one of eight dollars of receipts as winnings. I’d just like to say thanks to all those who bought tickets for paying my fair share of taxes.

I recall reading that those with annual incomes of $10K or less spend an average of six percent of their total budget on lottery tickets.

I got one number and it wasn’t the megaball. No $2 for me.
I’ll spend $10 when they get to these levels.
