My hypothesis is it is leading debris from a planet that was near a supernova. If my hypothesis is correct, then depending on how far away the supernova was the expected radial distribution pattern would tell us if we could expect to see more.

Next steps would be to:
1) Determine which supernova in the past were closest to earth.
2) Calculate an origin of the item based on speed/trajectory prior to entering our system and look for past super-nova in that direction.

I’m sure there is some astrophysicist doing just that currently.

Occam’s Razor - not necessarily true - sometimes the more complex answer is closer to the truth, given the billions of billions of galaxies in the observed Universe - not to mention the 300,000,000 stars in our galaxy alone.

Rocks do not adopt a perfect course to complete a perfect slingshot maneuver (to pick up speed to its next destination), passing unscathed through the solar system and around the sun except by amazing coincidence ... if you believe in them.

More Fake News from Fox... I guess all comets with orbital eccentricities greater than 1 aren't interstellar objects. Guess alot of orbital mechanics textbooks will have to be re-written.
