Warmists are such anti-science nitwits. The only thing they care about is their paychecks/grants. Lunatics.

The ocean is not rising, the land is slowly being eroded away by the ocean's waves. That's what happens to sand bars........

If the islanders were that concerned, which I suspect they're not, they could easily solve the problem by building a rock levee a hundred yards off shore on the windward side of the island.

...and then if you go with option one, do you turn it inside out???

With 600 billion tons of melting ice flowing into oceans that are absorbing heat twice as fast as 18 years ago.
Lava bed under polar cap not reported to fear freaks.
Hawaii lava pouring into ocean for 30 years not a problem.

All caused by man kind

The IPCC? Is any U.S. taxpayer money going to this insane outfit? They’re going to move islands? Do they think islands float? These crazy people need to be in straight jackets as soon as possible!

If the sea level is rising 12 mm around the Marshall Islands, it is rising 12mm in the rest of the world as well.

Water seeks its own level. I learned that in Junior High Science class.

Funny its only effecting one island in the Pacific.
Is it possible the Island is sinking just like Venice, Italy?
Nah, they can tip over but never sink.

OK, I'm no scientist, just a skeptic. But it seems that with oceans covering 70% of the earth and glaciers covering 10%, something here doesn't add up.

Like ice cubes in a glass of water, the displacement doesn't change the level when melting occurs. So the icebergs and ice cap shelves seem like they would cause no rise.

The glaciers on land create a different scenario, but it seems that they would have to all melt in a very short time in order for the water stored in them to run directly into the oceans instead of infiltrating into the soil and replenishing the aquifer.

Am I missing something?

"Seas do not rise; land erodes."

The Appalachia Mountains are some of the oldest mountains in the world.. They were probably at one time some of the highest as well.. But time and erosion works on us all... :) It's not hard to see an island made of sand eroding away....

I remember when Gilligan’s Island was sinking.

It turned out the professor was wrong.

Gore really pisses me off. I listened to him, bought 160 acres in New Mexico and paid engineers and an architect to design a beach house.

The ancient Greeks who ruled Egypt did not dig a canal because they thought the rise or maybe drop from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean was greater than it actually was.

Their measurements were a few feet off.

“On average, the eastern seaboard sees 3 mm per year of higher seas, according to a recently published article in Nature’s Scientific Reports....There are three primary reasons why the east coast of the United States is seeing higher relative seas. Two of which involve sinking of the east coast into the sea...These three factors have caused sea level to rise about 2 feet (60 cm) since the 16th century when most coastal communities were founded.”

https://www.forbes.com/sites/trevornace/2017/09/12/study-finds-the-east-coast-of-america-is-sinking-into-the-atlantic-ocean/#4bc587dc33fb

From Global Warming Friendly Wiki:

“Sea level rise will not be the same at every location on earth, with some locations even getting a drop in sea levels. Local factors include tectonic effects, and subsidence of the land, tides, currents and storms. Sea level rise is expected to continue for centuries. Because of long response times for parts of the climate system, it has been estimated that we are committed to a sea-level rise of approximately 2.3 metres (7.5 ft) within the next 2,000 years for each Celsius degree of temperature rise.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sea_level_rise

I’m thinking we can adjust. Over the next couple thousand years.

In the 1970s climate scientists were absolutely convinced we were entering an ice age based on a few decades of climate data.

Today those same scientists are absolutely convinced we are entering an warm age based on a few decades of climate data.

***Marshall Islanders ***

They have taken to High Ground in the Ozarks of Arkansas and Missouri. Large numbers of them here. Even had a mass shooting at a Marshallese church in Missouri several years ago.

1-Man is NOT "causing" climate change.

2-There is NO "global warming".

3-The sea is NOT rising.

4-There is NO scientific basis for the projections of either temperature increase or sea level rise.
