Vanity - POTUS, Donald J. Trump Should attend the funeral of ex-POTUS, George H.W. Bush.

Posted on 12/01/2018 5:16:13 AM PST by JLAGRAYFOX

I sincerely hope that POTUS, Donald J, Trump attends the funeral of Ex-POTUS, George H.W. Bush in honor of his outstanding, long term service to our nation and our people!!!

Bush like all of us human beings, has his flaws, but his successful accomplishments in his life far outweigh his faults.

We must remember the young Bush did not enter Yale, (Where he was accepted) when he graduated from high school, he signed on with the the U.S.Navy, where in eleven months, he became the Navy's youngest aviator (Pilot). Bush flew fifty eight missions, when in September, 1944 his aircraft, a Grumman TBM Avenger aircraft was shot down during a bombing mission. Bush parachuted to safety and was later picked up and rescued by U.S. Navy submarine, Bush was only twenty-two (22) years old.

Once the senior Bush was asked at formal dinner he was attending, "What was his most important assignment of life?". He immediately answered, "Being a good Husband, a good Father and a good Grandfather!!!" This man is an American who needs to be honored by his fellow peer Americans...period!!!

Bush 41 volunteered to serve after Pearl Harbor, just like my father and his four brothers. This was the rule, not the exception. It would have been noteworthy if he had not volunteered and waited for the draft.

No positive accomplishment of H.W. ever outweighed his attempt to help found a new world order and usher in a one world government.

Including his service in WW2.

Overall he has a massively negative record.

You can say he was at least semi-competent in war and that is it.

The Bush family hated Reagan and hates Trump.

Out of decorum Trump will go, but the Bush family must invite him first.

Not inviting DJT would put many old DC political families in a difficult position. These events are experienced by the entire city. They should not be partisan.I’ve attended many such events my whole life. I even volunteered at the Bush41 ignuaral Ball. I hope the family doesn’t go small during this time. They need to shine by example.

GWB said he would not vote for Trump who won the primary fair and square. Jeb and Kasich ignored their pledge to support the nominee.

The Bush family has an enormous sense of entitlement. Jeb had the hubris to run for President after both a father and brother had occupied the WH. And the fact is the Bush family did a terrible job of running this country and they unraveled the Reagan legacy. Neither Bush 41 or Bush 43 was a conservative.

George H. W. Bush served his country, every day he took and inhaled, God’s given breath of life!!!

There are good things he has done. But their is a sinister side too. I’m not going to trash him by bringing them up now but there are definitely demons. Anyway RIP Mr President

I respected him for his service to his country and he wasn’t as bad as Clinton or Obama or even Jimmy.

I grew to dislike him. Partly because he disliked me and mine and made it clear.

It is the expected action of all the past presidents to attend funerals of major political figures. You will probably see Trump, “W,” Carter if he’s healthy enough, and, unfortunately Obama and Clinton. You may also see Theresa May, and if security is sound enough, even Vlad Putin. There will probably be representatives from most major countries.

At Reagan’s funeral, there were over 40 attendees representing of 30 countries with over a dozen others that were past government people.

And in remembrance of the former prime minister of England Margaret Thatcher, if she was still alive, I can guarantee you she’d be there. She was a tough old bird. All four of the surviving presidents attend her funeral in 2012. I suspect England will be well represented.

True enough. If POTUS45 showed up, MSNBC would throw POTUS41 under the bus and scream, “Trump goes to fellow serial sexual harasser’s funeral.”

I think the Bushes should be silent where Trump is concerned, and Trump ought to do what he *l$@ well pleases.

Mostly agree with you on the family’s dynastic performance.

Still, its unusual for the formalities to not be observed, even if there is tension. Their choice; we get to comment.

Your post implies that President Trump might boycott the funeral. Was that your intent?

President Trump and Melania will be at the state funeral in the Washington Cathedral. The Bush family really has no official say about his attendance. We will see if the funeral descends into pettiness if there are veiled attacks against Trump by the Clintons and Obama. Or the Bush family for that matter.

Trump will be made to look like the skunk at the garden party.

Sigh.......

No invitation needed.

This isn’t the hate Trump sideshow that the McCain funeral was. The McCain’s wanted to believe it was a State funeral. It was NOT.
