Nancy Grace Roman, known as the "mother" of the Hubble Space Telescope and the first woman to hold an executive position at NASA, died on Christmas Day. She was 93. As the first chief of astronomy in the office of space science at NASA headquarters, Roman had oversight of the planning and development of programs such as the Cosmic Background Explorer and the Hubble Space Telescope, according to NASA. A woman got a degree, lived a long life and passed away.
Proof the patriarchy is dead.
Someone should photo-shop Forrest Gump in that pic along wid JFK and old Mother Hubble.
;)
93 is a very good run. RIP skywatcher.

The Hubble was quickly fixed and turned into a huge success. What exactly have you done with your life thats noteworthy? Or do you just disparage the accomplishments of others? Sad really......
I’m beggining to think the Webb telescope is just a money pit. It keeps over running it’s budget and getting the launch date set back for more years.
RIP.
