FULL TITLE: Daryl Dragon, the cap-wearing 'Captain' of 70s pop duo Captain And Tennille dies of renal failure aged 76 with ex-wife Toni at his side
Daryl Dragon of 70s singing duo Captain And Tennille has died at the age of 76.
The musician's publicist told TMZ he died of renal failure in Arizona, where he was in hospice care, with his ex-wife Toni Tennille at his side.
Daryl was known as the cap-wearing Captain who teamed up with then-wife Toni on 70s hits including the Grammy Record Of The Year winning Love Will Keep Us Together and Muskrat Love.
The two also hosted their own television variety series on ABC from 1976 to 77.
In a statement Toni said Daryl: 'Was a brilliant musician with many friends who loved him greatly. I was at my most creative in my life, when I was with him.'

At the end of the song, she sings “Sedaka is back”..

I heard he never took his captain’s hat off, even slept in it, because of baldness.
There is a picture of him in the article without his captains hat.
I don’t see how that adds up since both are well beyond being medicare recipients at the time of their divorce. She’s 78, He was 74. Beyond the fingers of Obamacare.
I used to work with a guy who was in the Glee Club at Auburn with Her. He was also a neighbor and friend.
He said she was well liked by everyone.
I had a similar experience with Charo. We saw her show. The first half was the shake her boobs “cuchi-cuchi”dumb blond show. The second half was her playing classical guitar with amazing results. Totally changed my perception of her
