full title: California police discover secret shooting range, weapons and thousands of rounds of ammo hidden underneath gangster's home

California authorities stumbled upon a secret underground shooting range hidden beneath the home of a known gang member. Officers with the Fontana Police Department's gang unit came across the hideaway while executing a search warrant at the home on Thursday night. 'While searching the house a man hole was located that led to an underground hiding area and an additional underground area that was being used as a shooting range,' the department said in a press release. As long as they’re shooting at a gun range instead of at people, what’s the problem?

The problem is the potential for gang members who can actually shoot accurately.

Then they got the idea for longer distances. Dug a trench and put in a large diameter pipe in the backyard running horizontally - and ends up at the basement wall where they knocked a hole out. Ran a pulley system along the “roof” of the pipe to change out targets, and had lighting every so often in the roof of the pipe. Pretty clever.

That is a great idea.

I always laugh at “thousands of rounds of ammunition”. That’d be four boxes of 22lr. Not that much, really.

Known gang member, but they don’t say whether the firearms were legal or not

No gang was identified. Was it a Free Republic gang? NRA gang member? A white conservative preppers group? Certain members of the FBI think of us as a threat. So a gun range and spent ammo doesn't concern me that much at this point.

Add a long arm Quilting machine and space for fabric, and it is a Perfect Quilter’s/Shooter’s Cave. I’d like to indulge both my hobbies.

I’ve several hundred round of AMMO for 3 types of guns. Locked in the Gun Safe, with enough left out for my Carry gun I can get to easy.

The U.S. flag doesn’t support a “gang banger” theme.

Sounds like you have a lifestyle of great Americana. Quilting can create art that is useful. My grandmother made me a quilt around 1968 and of course I still have it and even still use it at times.

Maricopa Rd had a good one. 5 mi. NE of Gila Bend.

Of course the entire desert can be a gun range.

I’ve been sewing since I was 12 and only had needle and thread. Took Sewing in HS. Took up quilting in my 30’s. While I can’t compete with the Show stuff I make beautiful useful quilts. My 7 grands and 6 great grands all have quilts, some have been given as gifts, lots were charity quilts, especially the ones we made for the Troops after 9/11 those were always special for me. All hand quilted too.

Not a bad shot either. When I took my CCW qualifying I was running a 103, had broken 2 toes the night before, vision was blurry from the fever, Aced the written, and 75% of the shooting due to the blurry vision. Bersa .308. I now carry a Taurus Ultra Lite revolver I like the grip better.
