Sovereign Grace First Reformed Church hosts a bingo night every few months to reach out to the surrounding community of seniors and provide a fun night for its own elderly church members.
But it's not a typical bingo night. Instead of picking winners at random, the pastor simply elects a chosen few to win the night beforehand and informs the winners upfront.
"Rather than going through the motions of so-called 'random selection' of bingo numbers, we will simply inform you when you arrive whether or not you were chosen to win," Pastor John McDavies said...
so-called ‘random selection’
Do they still get to yell bingo?
Jehovah’s Witness Church Hosts Bingo Night, EVERYBODY WINS!..............
so-called random selection
1) God chooses,
2) random selection
3) People choose.
Satire should make one think... ...
And we could run on many tangents with the Bingo story poking fun of different Christians (of which I'm one).
Armenian bingo: players choose the cards after numbers are drawn. :)
Pentecostal bingo: Some people have the gift of winning and others just claim to and never win. :)
Catholic bingo: The game leader looks at who has what cards and uses his apostolistic succession to decide which numbers are winners. :)
Protestant bingo: Aren't satisfied with a game announcer calling the drawn numbers, everybody has to go up to the stage and read the drawn numbers themselves. :)
Church of Christ bingo: Only players who have "Christ" somewhere in their name can win. :)
That’s hilarious. And true.
LOL
Too funny!
Thought it was real at first. Haha.
If it was my church it would be “Specifically chosen elders”
Which is why I don’t attend anymore.
This is actually a pretty good illustration on how hyper-Calvinism double predestination works.
