Lets see NPR go solar. Itd be a refreshing change from their dependence on tax dollars.
If the green new deal was effectuated and its 2050, this NPR story will be either distopian or a lie so Ill pass on reading it.
2050? I hope all liberals are dead.
Lets see every single govt building and housing structure go solar. Or in case of Congress, wind.
That’s why I hate liberals to the nth power. These morons want us to go back to living in caves..
2050: we’re all dead
We’d be Mad Max territory within 5-10 years of implementation of the GND
The World will look like Gilligan’s Island.
there’s be no coffee pots, laptops or wifi without fossil fuels
Nor the necessary precious minerals for solar panels and batteries.
Being a Liberal means you never have to think past Step 1
Caves are only for the members of the Politburo.
I call dibs on the Mary Anns!
That’s 20 years past the “use by date” that ‘aoc’ set. WTH?
Like Pol Pot ushering in his agrarian economy.
These lunatics never let the realities of what other countries do intrude upon their stupid religion. Other countries can warm their homes with incinerated tires, but if we’re all living in yurts eating tofu, they’re happy.
You up for the fight?
You can’t stop something that doesn’t exist in the first place.
They also gloss over the immense level of force and and forced implementation of the laws they assume, with little evidence, actually benefit people.
There would have to be a totalitarian government as bad as any we have imagined.
But they assume people simply love being forced to do what they otherwise would never do.
It is fantasy on parade.
They should all be tried for fraud. The only warming in the last 100 years is from the measurement offset errors that East Anglia “researchers” applied to old measurements to make them look cooler. They show about 1.8 degrees of warming which is the total of the offsets they added. Their e-mail got hacked and it showed collusion to prevent release of their measured data. If this was real they would freely release data to show the were right. But their e-mails showed that they planned to destroy their data rather than release it in a FOIA request.
Solar panels are great if you ignore the ecological damage done to get the materials and factor in the life span. There is no magical energy source that doesn’t have drawbacks.
But along with those carrots, there was also a stick. Cities took control of the precious real estate known as "roads" and started charging for the right to use them. "Maybe the most powerful thing that got us here, is [that] we got the pricing right," he says. "So, you want an autonomous vehicle? Bless your heart, but it costs you more to drive that autonomous vehicle on the road by yourself. If you ride-share, it's a little bit less."
