Another variant of the Leftist argument that an armed citizenry can't withstand tanks, planes, and drones of the modern US military.

In short, yes. The Jews, like most Germans, willingly surrendered their weapons to the Nazis, then Jews and other “undesirables” were rounded up and exterminated. Take note of the fact that, among many other things, Oskar Schindler provided weapons to many Jews - a fact omitted by Hollywood in the production of “Schindler’s List”.

At minimum, news of such armed clashes would have trickled out of Germany in time for the foreign press to notice.

What a horrible sentence. I guess women should let themselves be raped because attempts at self defense will provoke their attacker!
It might be futile, but attempts at self defense have worked in the past and kept the attackers at bay, or destroyed them totally.
Wells-Barnett observed: “The only times an Afro-American who was assaulted got away has been when he had a gun and used it in self-defense.”
Of course it’s better to be armed, but Jews were a tiny and distrusted minority. Long before anyone heard of Nazis, the presence of anything like Jewish militias would simply not have been tolerated in Christian lands.
Europe is nothing like America.
The fact that Israel still exists today while surrounded by millions of Islamofascists whose greatest wish is to annihilate them (and who have tried but failed several times to do just that) is living proof that an armed and determined free people is much harder to takeover than helpless unarmed people.
The Judeo-Christian-God-hating, America-hating, capitalism-hating, freedom-hating "socialists" who are trying to disarm us and "redistribute" our wealth today are really no different than the earlier Marxist/fascist totalitarians who took over their countries in recent history, disarmed the people, denied them their rights, seized their wealth and property and enslaved or murdered them by the millions.

Or might the Germans have been a bit more circumspect that a far more less docile people might take several Germans with them when they tried to capture and kill them?

The point of my previous post is the fact that it might not have been a complete solution doesn’t mean it wouldn’t have made a difference. If one more Jew had lived, the effort would have been worthwhile.
The very concept is unthinkable to the unthinking.
Even if they had guns, would they have been willing to use them?
I say...no. They were kept ignorant of what was going on. They weren’t even allowed radios.
Aleksander Solzheinitsyn wrote in The Gulag Archipelago a similar scenario where people were gathered up and thrown in prisons, and nobody really knew why.
Being kept in the dark seems to be a tactic used by oppressors to render people helpless, and of course to cover their dirty deeds.
We are seeing the same tactic used today via censorship which supports the demoncrats. Only their propaganda is allowed.
They also want to disarm us.
They color history so we can’t look at similar trends.
The youth is fed bs so that they are brainwashed by educational systems into thinking that socialist philosophies of oppression equals freedom. They don’t have a clue as to what freedom really is.
Today, the Israeli’s could walk into the Gaza strip and wipe it out in a day, but they don’t, because they recognize the inhabitants as their brothers. Jacob and Esau plays out there even today.
I’m thinking that if the Jews had attempted to overthrow their oppressors, it would have made them appear to be everything the propaganda against them said they were; a problem. It would have justified the Nazi position.
If they had known then that they were headed to places intending to kill them, perhaps they would have fought back, but it’s only in hindsight that we can draw this conclusion.
We weren’t there, we don’t know the rationalization or the mindset. Anybody who attempted to resist was shot dead in the street, and even those who didn’t resist were shot as examples to those who even hesitated.
Today, we are being told that holocaust never happened. Or that the number of Jews who were exterminated is over exaggerated.
I KNOW it happened. I knew some of the survivors, and not just a few. I saw their tattoo numbers, some of them had more than one. I saw their reactions to the movie Holocaust when it first came out. I didn’t understand then what was going on, until one of the women explained it to me. Nor did I understand the mental and emotional impact this horror had even 20+ years later.
THIS is the absolute sick,insane, warped thinking that now comes from our school systems,media,politicans and leftist indoctrination. The irony is that the Nazis,Soviets,Maoists etc used this "questioning" and "reasoning" to pacify the populations so they were much much easier to slaughter. The fantasy of the left is the mass executions and imprisonment of Conservatives ,Christians and all who defy and disobey the cause.
