Living or doing business in any s-hole country, you soon learn to have your own back up power and adequate fuel. The last one I lived in I made sure our building had 100% power backup. Went and checked the genset myself. It usually ran about three hours a day. You learn to look after things yourself.
Because they are rural the answer is yes...
What about the indoor marijuana growers? Oh, wait, they’ll just fire up their generators. No risk of fire, there.
Usually am well prepped but been using the fuel to mow down weeds in the acreage due to fire danger...had two gallons left. Ran one gallon for the fridge last night and today. Computer. Should last unti power comes back on. Otherwise move all the food to the RV fridge...which I could have done last night, but was lazy.
I do have a hand pump on the well and went down and got water and did last night’s dishes. Toilets need to be filled, etc....although I do have the RV for that too, if needed.
We have loads of tie dye to wash out that I did yesterday. We do fairs for a living and that is what we do. Anyone in Placerville next week..come by and say hello. Am I afraid of being doxxed? What are they going to do? Threaten my employer?
So, go figure...pony tail, listen to Grateful Dead, make and wear tie dye, veteran and paleo conservative...does it get any better?
Because clearing the growth, including trees, under the transmission lines is not an option. It will be a long hot summer.
We are being conditioned...as to what end...not yet certain.

Think Electricity instead of water
Convert it to propane as I did. Propane doesn't go 'bad' as my stored gasoline did.
Yes, these are red counties.
...Generators

Get a powerwall, instant on, expensive
recharge with line current, or any other power source
A socialist government, and power outages to manage problems the government created. Now where have I heard that before.
Selective load shedding is the preferred alternative to widespread blackouts. Should shed the most vocal NIMBY neighborhoods first, just to uphold accountability.
Its a little honda 2000 that I have had for some 15 years and abused. I need it for certain events where I either run the booth, or run the RV or both...for a week at a time.
Not a bad idea on converting to propane for the property but would need a bigger tank than 150 gal and at 2.50+/gal at times, a real wallet drainer.
Generators are hella loud,
Most of my neighbors have EM generators running natural gas.
Not much noise at all.
NG or propane, dual fuel generators sound the same.
A newer diesel installation should not be much different?
Last winter we lost power for a few days and the phone/cable company set up a small diesel about 200 yards from my position, no noticeable sounds.
The dogs and I stopped by to inquire about our lost internet service.
Some unnamed locals running an old generator or two they drug out of the garage... Have you ever heard a squadron of the old A-1 Skyraiders on takeoff???
Looks very interesting indeed....
Luckily we are gone most all the summer so we won’t be suffering from these constant power outages. Even during the “brownouts” we weren’t affected...until now. Hey, its easier to turn off the power to folks in the countryside because they won’t bitch and riot like the city folks...
Load shedding is not an issue. It is the very lines themselves that swing in the wind and begin arcing...that is the issue.
God bless them for protecting the environment. LOL Love their solution to getting sued out of existence. California brought it on themselves.
They’re going to screw up California so much that even Mexicans won’t stay there. Nah, feral pigs will leave before Mexicans leave.
LOL! Generators spewing carbon dioxide!
Ain’t liberalism grand?!
If they follow Venezuela, I think the next step is they start eating pets. Better tie up your kangaroo. Lol.
