I agree, but accidents do happen all the time. Some are more deadly than others. Electrical outlets should never be placed anywhere near bathtubs and showers, but in lots of bathrooms that's just not possible..

I have seen people use extension cords in bathrooms too, mostly to plug in electric heaters. My mother told me water and electricity don’t mix, she also told me not to use heaters with extension cords but a lot of people don’t seem to understand that.

I think the UK building/electrical code does not allow for outlets in shower/bath room (versus the loo).
He ran an extension cord so he could use his iPhone while it was charging, while he was soaking. The UK uses 240V, and the charger/extension cord somehow managed to drop into the tub.
I’m guessing that he also neglected to plug the extension into a GFI outlet.
