If it crashed on a heading parallel to the highway or street, probably sleepy and tired and mistook a roadway for the runway.

The pilots should have been retired at their age. I would not be surprised is the pilot was disoriented and tried to land at the truck stop.

I rode on some Convair 440s. They were crappy planes in the 1960s. That being said, they probably should have had at least one person in the cockpit that wasn’t on Social Security.
