Exactly, though a recreational double is in order to include a small tank trailer...

I agree. I wouldn’t buy an electric car until more infrastructure for charging is in place.

I think the hybrid cars I’ve heard about, seem like a fine idea, since they run off of both electric and gasoline.

Electric cars that require grid power to charge are stupid.

The same scam happened with cellphones.

The energy density of EV batteries will have to increase by at least a fsctor of 10 before that is feasible. It takes a forklift to move a Tesla battery.

Unintended consequences on full display... again.

Then the morons in Sacramento will realize the state’s electrical grid is insufficient and the shortage is getting worse, the state will increase energy taxes to pay for more high-tension lines, substations, switching networks, etc.

Batteries need to be much more efficient and also safer. If a big battery shorts out and catches fire it is a disaster. I know gasoline is dangerous but so is a big battery.

It takes about an hour to charge a Tesla completely with one of these super chargers. Who wants to wait that long? Then it’s not like there’s many of these chargers, not like there are gas stations.

Use the Tesla to tow a Toyota pickup, which can tow the Tesla when discharged inconveniently.

How about interchangeable charged batteries that slip in and out in seconds? Sounds involved though.

the Tesla battery packs essentially occupy the entire floor pan area...haven't seen any photos or videos of how the batteries are installed or replaced. Did see A Chevy Volt factory installtion, required two self propelled heavy carts with hydraulic lifts, an empty for the old one, and one with new battery pack...Volt has to be raised on lift, battery cart must be precisely position to receive dropped battery, and same precision position to lift new battery pack into position for mounting, no way that could translate into a few seconds...seemed to require a minimum 3 man crew to do the job.

Back in grade school, I read Tom Swift and his Electric Car. Tom was always interrupting his chase of the bad guys to steal a recharge from the trolley lines.

Recharging via a gas-powered generator, thereby defeating the entire purpose of ‘green’ transportation. Those boys in Club Pocket Protector apparently didn’t carry a decimal point or something. LOL
