The Senate must acquit, based on the fact that there is no crime & Articles are not “Constitutionally coherent.” Any other decision will prove the majority of both bodies of Congress is corrupt.
Let’s face it. If there are Senators that want lots of free time on all the major news programs for the next 10 months, there will be witnesses.
Yes, but Graham controls the Senate Judicary and can call the Biden’s as part of his own investigation. Moreover, if the GOP doesn’t call witnesses for the defense that will be seen as being unfair to the President and will incur a severe backlash in the GOP
They are doing so in the name of ‘fairness’ and ‘impartially’. If they don’t allow the President’s witnesses how fair will that look?

This is a set-up in the same way they quickly got the Special Prosecutor (Mueller). The ‘rat leaks to the New York Times, the New York Times runs the story that influences the RINOS and presto! Special Prosecutor - in this case presto! witnesses.
This is orchestrated and set up and the RINOS allow the set ups.
Hope so, as this does NOT need to drag out, and also they won’t call the “right” witnesses.
But there are at least 3 wafflers, not counting Toomey and Gardner.
The problem with witnesses is NOT getting them to talk, it is getting them to shut up. There is a human nature to share one’s side of the story and when that is done, that is when TOOO MUCH information is revealed.
So for the reasons stated, there will not be any witnesses.

IF I try to fly to Paris with large amount of cash in my possession, I get grilled & I need papers to allow me to do that.....But the U-Turns made by ‘aid’ payments to other countries seems to have a built in magnet to send large parts of those payments back to politicians.

I have tried to watch as much of the current phase of the trial as I could, but I only have antenna TV, and the local stations cut out VERY EARLY each day.
However, one of the President’s lawyers clearly stated that the whole Impeachment process was not legal from the start.
The House DID NOT vote as a body to pursue Impeachment. It only was a declaration from Pelosi.
IF that lawyer is correct, this whole expense & delay in running the country has been & still is a total sham.
I think Trump is giving the Dems plenty of rope——TO HANG THEMSELVES.
If nothing else, this has all been somewhat informative about how our Constitution laid out to provide for this country.
It's my understanding any witnesses will be deposed by the House managers and the defense team, then each side will present testimony from the witnesses via transcript and video from the deposition. The witnesses don't appear in person in the Senate chamber.

That is why malevolent RINO actors (Romney, Toomey) are trying to cut a deal where the Dems and Trump each get to call ONE witness.
Dems will call Bolton who will spew all the garbage from his book. Trump’s team will be pretty much forced to call Hunter Biden, who will plead the 5th. That won’t look good in Trump campaign ads but overall advantage Dems.
Trump would likely claim executive privilege and bar Bolton from appearing. That would end up in the courts and take months or perhaps years to get to SCOTUS. During that time the Dems will be able to run around the country screaming “Obstruction!”.
Mitch can and should shut this down. He could tell Mitt and Toomey that either they cool it or their offices are going to be moved into the Mens and Ladies rooms in the basement SCIF
