PM Trudeau begins the process of disarming Canadians

Over 13 deadly hours on April 18 and 19, Gabriel Wortman disguised himself as a Canadian Mountie and went to sixteen different locations in and around Portapique, Canada, where he killed 22 people and injured three others. For the killings, Wortman used a handgun and long guns, all of which he obtained illegally.

On Friday, Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau punished all Canadians for Wortman's act by reclassifying about 1,500 hitherto legal firearms as "prohibited." By using reclassification, Trudeau was able to circumvent legislation.

According to the CBC, the ban is effective immediately and blocks all licensed gun-owners from selling, transporting, importing, or using their newly banned weapons. There will be a two-year amnesty for unloading the guns through a "fair compensation" buy-back program (AKA a confiscation program).

Trudeau is banning any semi-automatic that can hold a magazine, which would seem to include shotguns, for the CBC says that "there are 105,000 firearms currently classified as 'restricted' that will now be classified as 'prohibited.'" The CBC includes a list of those guns that are primarily targeted:

M16, AR-10, AR-15 rifles and M4 carbine

Ruger Mini-14 rifle

US Rifle M14

Vz58 rifle and CZ858 rifle

Robinson Armament XCR rifle

CZ Scorpion EVO 3 carbine and pistol

Beretta Cx4 Storm carbine

SIG Sauer SIG MCX and SIG Sauer SIG MPX carbines and pistols

Swiss Arms Classic Green and Four Seasons series rifles

Trudeau isn't stopping with long guns, either. He wants to get rid of handguns, too. Bill Blair, the Canadian public safety minister, "promised Friday to enact legislation down the line to give municipalities the power to ban these firearms [handguns]."

I wonder if Turdeau and other leftist politicians should be banned and turn themselves in because of...Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, etc. That seems more appropriate for making societies more safe *and free).

The Canadian military is not going to be happy with this. He better reverse this or they may cancel him.

Sounds very much like what we can expect here if the Democrats get mail-in voting and corruptly throw Trump out of office.

I don't believe that the Canadian military overall has the same culture as ours. Like the RCMP, it was hit heavily with afffirmative action, and has a ridiculously high rate of officers. There are greater soldiers, sailors and airmen to be sure, but I don't see them revolting against Trudeau, especially when the rightish alternative party is stupid squared.

Well, that’s good to know. My own personal frame of reference is my Canadian wife and extended family, but they are not military, so your personal knowledge trumps mine.

I saw and they are not happy with him nor voted for him in the last election. Their defense minister is a Gurkha combat veteran badass who will not like this one bit.

You’re right. I didn’t believe that Australia would comply to the extent that they did.

There is a conservative majority in their Parliament right now and lots of Canadians love guns. I went to Belgium as part of a NATO delegation which included the USMC, US Army and Canadian Army and from my interactions with their officers I found them to be right wing nationalists.

Wow. This is why I really really hate Canada. I mean, I iike my adopted country. Well, adopted against my will.

There are the vast expanses, fields of wheat, The Majestic Rockies, the seashores on both sides, the huge waterways and network of lakes, rivers, and tributaries. But you’ll notice I said like, not love. And this is why.

I just wonder if my husband’s hunting rifles, inherited from his father and probably his grand-father before that, are now considered illegal.

I don’t care. I’ll tell him about this law, but I don’t I hope to
God he doesn’t do anything about if it is illegal.

Like most Canadians, a nation full of wusses, he tends to crack under the pressure of law enforcement.

And their highly restrictive laws regarding weapons can be used to blackmail people. He once had to fire an employee and the guy knew that he hunted, so the man called police and said my boss, a Mr. so-and-so, that my husband, wash driving around in a minivan, with his two children in the back, was shooting out of the car window even near homes. Well shortly later that day I received a knock at the call and there were two policemen there. I had to show them where my husband’s guns were. I took them downstairs, and there they were, perfectly locked and stored quite safely so that the children had no access to them. The jerk used a Kinko’s in Ottawa oh, so it was basically untraceable. But my husband knew exactly who it was, a disgruntled former employee.

These so-called disgruntled employees have caused a lot of me bloodshed and violence over the years. There’s a reason “going postal” is a thing.

Disarmed people are killed easier, so the death rate by violence in Canada will go up. Trudeau knows this, there is massive evidence to that.

Socialism need the population disarmed before it goes all Totalitarian. Canada is about to become a very unpleasant place.
