The movement against the Confederate flag has reached college sports.

SEC commissioner Greg Sankey delivered a strong message to schools located in Mississippi on Thursday, threatening to keep championship events away from the state until its flag is altered.

I was trying to do some research on this. I could not find the Mississippi flag(s) from the Antebellum era.

I can answer that for you. - Mississippi had NO state flag until 1861. - Further, the two sides of the flag were completely different.
(I discovered this fact while doing research on our family’s history in Marshall County, MS.)

Isn’t it time to rename the SEC?

The SEC was founded in the Jim Crow era, some say to avoid the need to play integrated teams from elsewhere. And since “some say,” it probably is true.

Yes, it is time to trash all SEC history - void the championships of the all-white teams, trash the tainted trophies, destroy every record, bring down all the statues . . . and so forth and so on.
