I have seen it. I was not overly excited by it, but my daughter loves it. It has certainly inspired her to read a lot more about the Revolutionary period and American History in general.

I have this mental image of Lin-Manuel Miranda ‘pitching’ his idea to make “Hamilton” to a Broadway production sugar-daddy. When he gets a negative reaction from the bored producer he says, “Wait... this is the best part... the entire cast is BLACK.” Suddenly the project is funded.

I haven’t seen the play. Maybe I will. But some entertainment projects are just bizarre on the face of it.

I haven’t seen the show “Hamilton.” Though, I have heard a bit of the music from “Hamilton” and I will say that the musical “1776” has better music with memorable lyrics.

Haven’t seen the play, but I I taught my 7th graders about the Hamilton/Jefferson split in Washington’s cabinet. Jefferson is/was nearly universally praised as Founding Father, and Hamilton, except for being on the $10 bill and being killed by VP Burr is pretty much forgotten.

But Hamilton saw the future of the U.S. more accurately than Jefferson. Hamilton saw us as a nation of business and eventually industry. That’s why he convinced Washington to honor our debts. Jefferson’s vision was of a nation of small-farmer yeomen working the land.

My son loves the Hamilton soundtrack. He was disappointed that the Disney version they streamed was rap.

Hamilton has always been my least favorite founding Father. He wanted a monarchy. He was also quite willing to be very tyrannical which he exhibited once he got into Washington’s administration.
