DETROIT, Mich., Tuesday, Sept. 4. Notwithstanding the decided appearance of rain this morning, the Republican demonstration, to-day, has been a decided success. At an early hour crowds of people from the interior of the State and neighborhood, commenced pouring in until noon, when most of the trains having arrived, the attendance was variously estimated at from twenty, to thirty thousand. The procession which commenced forming at 1 o'clock was very impressive. Two thousand Wide-Awakes turned out, with twenty-eight bands of music. A six horse team drawing a large wagon filled with ladies dressed in white, representing the several States. A flat-boat on wheels, duly equipped and manned, and a rail fence on an immense platform, composed some of the principal features of the procession. The streets and many buildings along the route of the procession were gaily decorated with banners, and streamers, the whole making a grand and beautiful display. The procession marched to the freight depot of the Detroit and Milwaukee Railroad, where the multitude was addressed by Gov. SEWARD. All being unable to hear him, stands were subsequently erected in different parts of the grounds, and were occupied by Gen. NYE, Senator WADE, Hon. AUSTIN BLAIR, Hon. JACOB M. HOWARD and other distinguished gentlemen. Mr. SEWARD addressed the audience as follows:
