Average fuel cost climbed nearly 30% to $1.74 per gallon in the quarter from the previous three months, while passenger traffic fell 52% compared to the same period in 2020. The World Health Organization did not declare COVID-19 a pandemic until near the end of the first quarter in 2020.
United Airlines said it expects fuel costs to rise by another 5% in the second quarter.
The airline, however, forecast a return to profitability later this year and said it expects to restore some capacity cuts as more people are willing to travel.
Capacity should reach 45% of 2019's level in the second quarter from 2019, United said.

The agreement includes a $1.65 billion contract for the establishment and operation of a training centre for the Hellenic Air Force by Israeli defence contractor Elbit Systems (ESLT.TA) over a 22-year period, Israel's defence ministry said.
The training centre will be modelled on Israel's own flight academy and will be equipped with 10 M-346 training aircraft produced by Italy's Leonardo (LDOF.MI), the ministry said.
Elbit will supply kits to upgrade and operate Greece's T-6 aircraft and also provide training, simulators and logistical support.

I’ve largely ignored the Enemy Media ‘news’ for a decade or so, now. I keep up to date here on FR. I will check local weather. I no longer care about ‘sports’ unless it’s local college or my local bowling team.
I am, however, starting to wonder HOW our economy is going to recover from this past year and now 1/4 of our way into 2021. I know we’re NEVER going to get the true story about our economy; it’ll be sugar-coated as they’ve done with EVERY Socialist Democrat ‘_residency.’

Who wants to fly for hours w/a mask and be subjected to getting your brain poked (via your nose)...only to possibly have to quarantine, once you land at where you’re flying?
