Authorities cleared the wife of Texas gubernatorial candidate and former Chairman of the Texas Republican Party Lt. Col. Allen West of a DWI charge Wednesday, Fox News reported.
A Dallas Police Department officer arrested Angela West, 61, in August for suspicion of driving while intoxicated (DWI), despite the toxicology results saying that she did not have any alcohol or drugs in her body, Fox News reported. George R. 2. I don't know the particulars but it would appear that the officer had ZERO Probable Cause for the arrest.
3. If the officer held breathalyzer showed anything, it is clearly faulty and on the police.
4. I don't I ever did one DUI when I was a cop, but if I'm not mistaken the one used at the traffic stop is merely to support the validity of the stop, so to speak, the one taken at the station/jail, the Intoxilyzer machine, is the one used in court.
5. I know he probably won't, but I'd be SUING THE EVER LIVING SH*T OUT OF THE DALLAS PD. This is clearly a case where she was targeted. I'm not saying that they were waiting for her. It may have been a legitimate traffic stop, based on a traffic violation. But everything that follows is pure, made up bullsh*t and that officer needs to be held accountable. I'm sure the officer will fold like a cheap suit under any kind of questioning in court or during a deposition.
I wholeheartedly agree and then more. WHY did he stop her in the first place? Hmm??? That question needs to be answered publicly.
I hope Colonel West bankrupts that city for using the police to carry out Democrat political atrocities!
They took her grand-kids away after the stop. Can you imagine what she had to go through? Yes, this was a targeted stop, with the cop already knowing the outcome, hoping to embarrass Allen. Allen take them to court and once Governor, investigate and you will find it all pointing back to Grabbit who should be afforded a nice place in Huntsville for the next 2-5 years.
I watched the body cam video last week, there was NO probable Cause and it is clearly evident on the videos to anyone sighted.
She was the Victim or a Violent CarJacking, Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Kidnapping, All Major Felonies and she should be Criminally Charged Immediately and since she perfo0rmed these Criminal Acts Under the Color of Law, she should be DENIED BAIL.
You do this, and just watch how fast these willing accomplices turn on thier handlers.

Side comment - may people due to physical limitations, are unable to pass a field sobriety test. Many with brain injuries, hip surgeries, depth perception, etc have such difficulties. There should be some means where a LEO can be informed that there are physical impairments involved with the driver.
Just telling a cop that you are physically impaired due to injury or surgery (but not disabled) does not seem to work. Fortunately for me, I requested a breathalyzer. The cop had to get another LEO there because he did not have the kit in his car. Before the breathalyzer, the cop was dead set that I was DUI cause I could not walk a straight line. The fact that I have a hip injury did not sink into his reality.
That’s Funny!!, I couldn’t pass the test now on my Best Day if I had to and I would NEVER EVER take a Field Sobriety test because it is Voluntary and it’s only purpose is to validate the bullshit reason they pulled you over for.
I still think this was an attempt to raise West’s profile against Governor Abbott, as West is getting clobbered at this point, and now with our legislature back in town, the race is already over.
Anyone arrested for DWI now has a right to question if his breathalyzer was faulty too.
Way to go, stupid, corrupt, democrat operative cops.
Alan was beside himself after his wife was arrested, and the stupid Police Chief then came out and said he was behind his officer (was angry that the officer was maligned,) the PD would be completely transparent, and if they made a mistake, they'd admit it.
They then released a PARTIAL videotape, which excluded important info West had said happened. Experts have said the sobriety test administered did not indicate intoxication. The arresting officer claimed she smelled alcohol on Mrs. West, and in a cup in the car. The arresting officer was unable to administer a breathalyzer, but arrested Mrs. West anyway.
The blood test taken by the PD showed NO alcohol or drug use. This corroborated a test done by Mrs. WEst immediately after being released which would have shown byproducts of alcohol use up to 80 hours after ingestion - that test was clean as well.
So:
(1) The arresting officer either lied or was incompetent in the administration of the sobriety test, and her claim to have detected alcohol. (She didn't save the cup that she claimed to have smelled like alcohol.)
(2) The PD was less than transparent by releasing only a partial tape of the incident.
(3) When it became clear that the arresting officer screwed up, the PD failed to make good on its promise to admit they were wrong.
The PD is hiding behind a statement they released where they said they accept the DAs decision not to press charges, and essentially claim that justice was done, and will not be commenting further on the matter.
Completely dishonest actions by the PD.
Dallas, by the way, is a deep-blue city.
I had no idea Allen West moved out of Florida and is running for governor of Texas.

Having seen several stills from the cop car’s camera, she was repeatedly crossing the shoulder side white line. The stop was legitimate, but the DUI charge was not. She was likely texting or otherwise using her phone, which is another matter.
Many places have serious fines for doing so because the accident rate and severity is brutal when it comes to distracted driving.
Wasn't the arresting officer a black female?
Can we get an “amen” from BLM? Or at least from one of the Hispanic servants in their mansions?

Ummmm. Plenty of probable cause. Col. West can easily be mistaken for Larry Elder.
Unless Texas has a different, distracted driving law, than the other states, those statutes deal with folks using phones or texting while driving. If you get pulled over for that, the fines aren’t too bad. But, if they ca. Show it was a factor in a wreck you do get hammered pretty good. And God forbid you cause an injury.
If she was crossing over the right lane marker, that would be failure to maintain a lane.
All speculation and opinions are made irrelevant if they release the videos from the bodycam and dashcam if the car was equipped.
Not only that, but she had her 3-MONTH OLD GRANDBABY in the car and was forced to leave the infant there with two of those corrupt officers, not knowing how soon her family members would get there or be allowed to pick up the child. THEN she had to spend the night in jail, when she was 100% SOBER.
