After a disastrous round of golf, the “the woulda, coulda, shoulda” mutterings in the clubroom always sound a little hollow. If it would have been done, or could have been done, or should have been done, then why wasn’t it done out there when it might possibly have made a difference?

Or maybe there was simply no driving force, no fire, no hunger, to make the necessary commitments and sacrifices to assure a better showing or even victory.

Ultimately, we are all playing the game against the best versions of ourselves, the only meaningful opponent in our lives.

Sometimes, that “best version” is never found.

Would the FBI have called Black Lives Matter members the single greatest threat to the country?"

I have posited this exact scenario on this forum a few times.

I find that the tool of putting the shoe on the other foot exposes the absurdity of situations quite well in many cases.
