Why would UFOs appear as balls of light. You would think they would try not to draw attention to themselves and would no have lights of any kind.

To primitive minds, everything that can not be understood or physically explained becomes “spiritual”.
I honestly don't know what these UFO/UAPs are, but I don't think one can conclude that "they would not try to draw attention to themselves."
It appears that's exactly what they are doing (among other things).
That said, "semi-spiritual" is what's often used to describe them.
Whenever I read a story that includes anti-drone measures I assume this is bs. That area is one of the most important ongoing arms races out there. We aren’t going to talk about it. Or if we do, it’s to mess up someone. Russia does not seem so good in this area, and Turkey, China, Korea, Japan, maybe Iran, and the US have the capability to field good ones.
I’m trying to figure out where the gov is eventually headed with all this crap. And if it was menacing, did they try to shoot it down?

I got news for you, they are already here. They are shape shifters and have been written about extensively throughout history. The main thing to remember as a given, is that time, space, and dimensions are flexible for these entities. They are not “limited” by our own primitive understanding of physics. They cannot be assessed by our laws of physics, they can manipulate their own laws of physics at will.

Imagine a race of two dimensional creatures, living on a sheet of paper. They would view going from the upper-right corner, to the lower-left corner, as a very long journey.
But you, in three dimensions, could simply bend the paper, and the distance would become tiny... to you.
Scale that up to three dimensions and you see how it could work.

It seems it would take enormous amounts of energy. I would think it would be pretty revealing, ionizing radiation on almost all wavelenghts. Additionaly I wouldn’t want to be anywhere near it!
I see, thank you for the clarification. I think I understand what you mean. Like a partial manifestation from another dimension. “Bleeding across” from one dimension into another yet not fully into ours.
It also works if you have an Infinite Improbability Drive, which lets the ship pass through every point in every universe simultaneously.
The tr3b is real. We saw one in Illinois probably about 1998. It’s suppose to be reverse engineered from ufo technology.
The idea of shape shifters is not something I can say is real, but I can’t say it’s not real either, we simply have no idea what is out there.
I do agree that if intelligent life has traveled to Earth, they have an understanding of physics that can’t be comprehended by our knowledge of physics.
My basic point is, I believe somewhere out there in the universe intelligent life exists, what form it takes and if it’s traveled to earth I have no idea about, so far it can’t be proven or disproven.

Absolutely. To limit their understanding of physics based on our own primitive understanding of physics is far too near sighted. There are physics out there we still have no clue about yet. As arrogant as we are about our understanding, we are still infants in that game because we limit our scope and firewall possibilities.

Absolutely and I agree. And we never will understand this phenomenon if we keep putting up firewalls against possibilities based on our primitive rudimentary knowledge.
I read somewhere a couple of years ago about how relatively fast our knowledge about physics or anything else can changed.
The analogy was, take 3 things, like a Nuclear Reactor, F-22 Jet Fighter or something we all take for granted like a Iphone back to 1776 at the founding of the USA, scientists back then would have no concept of what they were or how to utilize them, given their understanding of physics, that was less than 250 years ago, imagine what the next 250 years will hold and then think about the next 1000 years...
