To be generous, the use of masks during what was billed as a viral based respiratory pandemic is pseudoscience at best, given what was worn, how it was worn, where it was worn, the duration it was worn, and so on and so on. No need to beat the dead horse who did not die of COVID.
Masking is now on the decline as evidenced by the rollback in cities, states, public transportation, etc. Though there is still the issue of masking children in school, that will likely go by the wayside in the short run. Primarily, it will be due to the political class looking toward re-election; once you let the parents off the hook, it is a liability to keep the charade going by using children as hostages. To rational people, it should be clear that there was never a scientific rationale to justify masking's use and obvious child abuse to continue.
But if I were an evil genius, how could I keep my pet project of subjugation — I mean protecting the public's safety — going? Well, this is a medical issue, after all, so I'd look for the obvious: the medical environment.
Though I am not an evil genius, there is a guy who plays one on TV.

I think a couple states said you don't need any reason to use a mail in. I think NYS is one.

Government involvement in medical care is a bad thing. Medicine just becomes a tool of manipulation and social control. They would do the same with food. If we get food shortages, the government will step in to "help" and pretty soon only the political class will be able to eat beef.

...same here. I’m going to my sisters funeral this weekend. Two of her kids and their spouses are big lefties and I don’t have it in me to accept that. I despise them for it and have 0 tolerance for their voting habits. They are destroying everything I’ve worked for and my childrens future. Ignorance of history and economics are no excuse. One word of them about Biden’s “doing all he can” or whatever and I’ll shut ‘em down. My sister was very conservative. She’d understand.
And that number is not true. How many died with a positive test, and not from Covid.
At one point the average age of Covid death was a bit higher than the average life span…
Things have gotten so much worse whenever federal government gets involved:
* Health care
* Energy
* Education
* Food (existing price supports)
* Welfare
* Public safety
Sounds like the Weekend From Hell — on many levels. Best you can do when a family funeral is involved is grit your teeth and go home ASAP. (If a funeral were not involved, you could point and laugh.)
