Rolling blackouts possible in Indiana, and Columbus, due to extreme heat

COLUMBUS, Ind. — An energy grid operator has warned Indiana and other Midwestern states of the possibility of rolling blackouts this summer as extreme heat combines with a projected power capacity shortage and increased demand.

Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), an independent, not-for-profit organization that delivers electric power across 15 U.S. states — including Indiana — and the Canadian province of Manitoba, is warning that power-generating capacity is struggling to keep up with demand, according to Bartholomew County REMC.

Quick! Give Biden and Democrats complete control. Nothing will be fixed, but you will feel morally superior.

Not mine. In the past 365 days I bought from the grid less than 42% of all the power we consumed at our house. My solar system provided the other 58%. And we're in the middle of upgrading it and getting an EV.

If my calculations are as accurate as they were with the original phase of the system a year ago, my system will produce 85% to 95% of all the power we consume, including charging an EV to drive ~200 miles per week.

That’s going a bit overboard. Sure, we have rolling blackouts. But 3rd world countries are so pathetic they have to import food to feed their infants. At least we aren’t doing that.

Oh, wait. We are doing that. Never mind.

"Due to Democrats and the moron Greenie Republicans."

Bingo. How did we go from the most reliable, cheapest, and abundant electrical power system in the world to this? Democrats and believers in the global climate catastrophe scam.

I worked in the power industry for almost 30 years and finally had to leave because every single decision was political. When I joined the industry it was run by engineers who knew how to build robust systems. When I left, it was run by lawyers and greenie weenies who couldn't tell you the difference between a turbine rotor from a generator rotor or a kWh and a BTU.

Yes. No reason for this.

U.S. is dumbed down and beaten down.

“Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO), an independent, not-for-profit organization that delivers electric power across 15 U.S. state”

Just like ERCOT in Texas. This over managing and brokering infrastructure sucks and only works for Wall Street. Before these sharpshooter bribery grifting systems became the vogue, America never had blackouts unless it was a storm.
