I insist that a fog actually know its name, and respond to it when called. . You’d be surprised how many don’t.It was a joke.

I don’t think there are “girl and boy” dogs and cats. There are male and female... Don't know about dogs, but traditionally, a male cat is a tom and a female is a queen. However, most cat fanciers that I know say boy and girl.

I have an 18lb black cat named High Jinx, just Jinx for short. My daughter named him because she said I had to stop calling him "Little S**t", it wasn't a proper name for a kitten. Trust me, my name fit.
The rest of the clan are Smudge, Socks, Sneakers, Tessa, Tamsin and Tipton Longcat.

Fogs don’t really have a name, they just kinda dissipate.

I recently adopted a big seal-point Siamese cat who started showing up in my patio. I named him Calvin, after Calvin Coolidge. He has blue eyes, like our 30th president.

It is wrong for them to refer to animals as "boys" and "girls".
They should use "males" and "females" or the correct terms:
For dogs: Dog and Bitch.
For cats: Tom and Molly.

We had a cat named Krueger, for obvious reasons. We were at a party, and the guy's cat just had a litter.
Want a kitten? Sure. He was solid black, destroyed a lot of stuff, then ran away.
Oh well...

My mother once named a cat Nannette, after a family friend. But when I informed our friend of that, she threatened to retaliate and name a cat after me.

True. You can name them anything you wish, but they will only answer to the name they pick for themselves.

I named my first dog “Rufe” just so I would have fun calling him.

Yikes! Jinx is a house cat that I don't let out because of bears and coyotes but he tries.
All of my cats were born outdoors. When we moved in there were 2 cats, Sooty and Smoky, brother and sister, that had kittens. We fed them but Sooty never let us pet him. As they had kittens, we caught them and spayed & neutered them, except for Smudge who had her 2 boys before being spayed. All of them sleep indoors but only 3 are allowed out.
We asked for help from several cat organizations, mostly we received insults.

Our Charlie is almost 20lbs, but he wears it well.
Our little girl Coco is twice his age, and half his size, lol.

My siamese/short hair mix had blue eyes and a normal cat voice. Smartest cat I’ve ever known. Miss him very much.

When Mrs. Chandler and I were first married, we had a cat who was pure white with green eyes. We named him “Honky”.

My youngest son and wife named their new cat Finley. Talk about off the wall but I guess I can’t say too much ... my mini-Dobie is named BayLee.
