I think they have the advantage of having higher than average IQs. This gives them the ability to succeed and that makes everyone else envious. This then plugs into the leftist trope where if you have money you must be a criminal (unless you won the lottery, then it is OK). The upside is that it gets poor people to pay taxes.

1 - Catholic Church bans its people from lending money but not from borrowing it
2 - So somebody needs to lend money to all these customers
3 - Jews step up
4 - Then they run all the banks
5 - Everybody hates them
I didn’t know the Catholic Church doesn’t allow lending.
They do now. It was banned in the 12th century and started getting unbanned in the 16th. Which is the window when Europe was basically Catholics and Jews and not much of anybody else. Also when the economy was starting to rev up and become international and then global. When banks started to really matter. And of course everybody that’s ever been denied a loan, or been repossessed hates bankers, which were all Jews for 400 years.
Also there was the whole blaming Jews for kill Jesus thing. Really the Catholic just basically decided everybody should hate the Jews and set the table for that.
Thomas Sowell actually discusses this. Using the Jewish people for an example, ages ago it was considered loathsome to engage in the practice of money lending, banking, and so on. The Jews were more or less forced to go into that line of work because “good” people considered it beneath them. The Jews became great at it and so envy and hatred takes hold of the “good” people. They are forced to deal with who they consider the wretched members of society. It is the same with other races throughtout the years.

He has that right imho. the 19th century germans from the countryside flocked to cities where jews had worked for centuries. the jews were successful because they had long experience in the roles they were playing. likely the country germans envied the jews their success. after a century or so of city living most germans have got the hang of the demands of urban life. they’ve become successful. now they they’re not so envious.
the current attack on white people in america is similarly motivated by envy.
