That rings a bell. I saw a lot of Law & Order reruns in the years when I had a baby all the time.
I misunderstood who was who.
😂
My mother in law was jealous of her daughter, my future wife. It was pathetic.
It is sad and pathetic to be stunted for a lifetime.
LOL
All women need to save up for a lonely old folk's home. They may need the money. Most kids these days have no time for their widowed mothers. They say they're much too busy with their jobs.
Just this week I had an elderly woman who was trying to work because her husband is in hospice. She was stressed and her daughter was too busy to help. I asked her about her daughter and her unwillingness to come to see her. She said, "I'm sure my daughter would be there for me if I really needed her." Total denial.
Your husband's genes.
Often the columnist who receives these messages will edit them consierably before publication, for a number of reasons, such as changing identifiers to protect privacy, condensing for length, tidying up grammar, etc. So you are probably seeing an altered version based on a letter, or possibly several letters describing similar dilemmas.
Just here for the thread of good biting commentary, and to the maximum Freeper credit , you did not fail me.
Here is an actress and her mom and grandmother.
All three are not well, they are er... average at best.
The daughter was able to buy a $2 million dollar home at 22 years old because of her big bosums on display in a tv show.

My Mom and I had a rocky relationship. I was really close to my Dad and I was very independent. She couldn’t control me and I never sought her advice. We were oil and water. I always chalked it up to her having a bad childhood.
Oddly enough I was the sibling who ended up taking care of her in her old age until she passed 2 years ago.
It seems a bit contrived, and fake.
Yep, especially when you read the second letter.
I wonder if "Jane" takes any real letters.
Men and women are wired differently.
Hate crime!
Given the nature of women especially today
No shortage of daily doubles there
(It always be Art not Alex to me)
How sad. I came from a Latino family and that is very rare.
Welcome to the age of women in the social media era.
That's not odd at all. That's usually what happens. The favorite daughter never had to work hard to get her mother's affection. The non-favorite daughter is there for the mother, still working for that affection years later.
