One word: WW II Japanese fire balloons finally landed.
I know- it’s sick=- Haven’t even heard of any investigation being started into it -
FWIW - almost all wildfires in Canada start with lightning. It happens often in Western Canada just as wildfires are more common in the Western US.
These fires start in very remote areas. People have little concept of how remote much of the forests in Canada really are.... we are talking about massive swaths of forest and tundra with no road network.
Canada has a different approach to fighting these because of how remote they are and a lack of resources. They generally try to protect private property and infrastructure and let the fires burn and its probably a correct approach for better forest management because the more fires you suppress he heavier and larger the fuel loading is for the next one.
Another thing that I believe is influencing this is the pine beetle. It has swept through Western forests in the US, BC, and Alberta and I understand it is present in central and eastern Canada now. When you kill off lots of trees in overgrown forests it acts as a ladder fuel and puts fire up in the trees when it might otherwise stay mostly on the ground.
Just my .02 and I don’t view this as a conspiracy or terrorism. There are certainly wildland arsons but most are accidental either from natural causes (lightning), trains (I have seen a few of these), and/or negligence (discarded cigarettes, slash piles, machinery) there is proof positive for lightning strike fires and presumptive starts along rail lines.
When vegetation dries out (uncommon in the humidity on the east coast) you can start a fire simply by your lawnmower hitting a rock (this happened to me a few years ago on riding mower along my driveway).
Someone I know in one of the areas most affected at present reported that the smoke looks blue and the air smells “chemical” in nature.
I’m a couple hours south. While I definitely don’t think its a good idea to take my walks, I can’t say I notice what he’s noticing.
I don’t remember ever being in area beset from the verified smoke of verified forest fires hundreds of miles away, so I can’t make any comparisons to what I am experiencing in my area.
But I wouldn’t put it past our evil rulers to try to poison us with something and blame forest fires, nor would I put it past them to allow a lot of fires to be deliberately set. Perhaps both is going on.
I have a house on the edge of wooded area, as I am sure many do, and am slightly worried.
. . and I'll wager neither have you and the rest of us.
It's all so very strange . . . and suspicious.
Well, let me put it this way. Our worst enemies have infiltrated through the open border policy and are in our soil now freely observing and strategizing, where they can plan their most destructive area where their will be a huge casualty of life. . Just an idea, where do you think those spy balloons are being launched off from? Think and think good people. The enemy is already on our soil. I can’t remember his name, but there was a former military man who said his biggest fear is that they will do a bigger 9/11 in our nation. If that happens, I suggest the veggie and his administration should be put against the wall the way dictators were taken care of in the olden days.
To be more precise - the largest and biggest wildfires there start with dry lightning. Numerically I think they are around 50% of starts by lightning but those lightning fires are responsible for more than 80% of the land burned.
I have not looked at their stats recently but that is what they were a few years ago.
They're saying that lightening is the cause of these Eastern fires.
It's up to How the wind blows as to where the smoke will flow. And nothing to do...not even a tad....with Climate Change.
So the question is...If there was no climate change...would this fire have happened.
What a dumb question...If you can't prove MAN MADE Climate Change...you sure can't attribute this fire to something you can't prove in the first place.
There are some great graphs on Canadian fires...ands plenty of articles that Canada does little toward fire prevention.
it’s pretty sad that we even have to think in these lines- to think that our government or other governments could be so callous and criminal as to foist dangerous crap on the people- but it’s becoming more and more clear that hardly anything is beneath them apparently-
There were multiple Tweets showing the fires all started at the same time in locates far apart.
Skies were clear so there was no dry lightning.
If the fires were set to prove “climate change is real” then these are some very sick people.
The area is sparsely populated but there are plenty of animals. So kill the animals in the most cruel way possible to save the earth?
The odor comes from turpines common from pine species trees.
Think turpentine. The odor is quite strong when a pine forest burns. You can read the abstract of this paper and it is a good study.

The smoke can be rather nasty. I feel bad for the young kids who suck this stuff non-stop for months in the West. It has to have some long-term health impacts.
MY area, about 10 miles east of The Ohio is overcast, but there's no smell nor heavy cover . . disappearing now at noon.
In my part of Washington, from the Kitsap Peninsula to Packwood where I commonly travel, the woods are in horrible shape. The most common problem is the brush has been allowed to choke out the bases of trees. Most of the trees are pecker poles, no good for anything but firewood really. After being logged, they allow the forest to grow naturally, instead of taking out trees that will be too close together to allow them to mature. Blackberrys, Huck and Salal, fill in under the trees and it is so thick humans cannot walk through it. I am sure this is purposeful, to allow Bambi and Thumper safety. 60 years ago when I was a boy exploring woods, this was uncommon. There were always trails travelled by game. It is very different in the 2,000’s. It is obvious this is a plan or policy.
Nope. Swamp Gas.
I can’t be objective on this subject after anarchists left flyers in our community in September 2020 that said they would burn out Trump supporters.
The entire I 5 corridor south of leftist holds if Portland and Eugene was on fire..two towns full of senior citizens, including mine, gone.
Burning people out of their homes and community is one of the oldest tactics of invasion and warfare.
We have it and smell it in Central Indiana. We have very little rain but constant gray skies and very filtered sunlight.
I think they have been geo engineering the skies and doing what they can to block sunlight which will destroy agriculture and food production.
Regardless of how the fires started, are the Canuckians even TRYING to put them out? These fires seem to be going on for longer than normal and I’ve seen no footage and heard nothing of Canadian fire fighting.
