Seems a fine time to mention that Vladimir Putin is a former KGB agent and a proud Soviet revanchist. I’m sure he’s quite happy about the contributions of American communists and traitors to the Soviet nuclear program.

It’s an interesting story, except for the fact that Cohn was right, McCarthy was right, and Trump is right.
It’s pretty much for certain that Oppenheimer was a Soviet sympathizer who enabled the transfer nuclear weapons information to the USSR.
I doubt Truman stripped Oppenheimer’s security clearance just because of some remarks he made at dinner.

They supposedly kept Albert Einstein out of the Manhattan Project because of his “radicalism”.

That is because they wanted unlimited funding for their research and believed the best way to get it was from a government who could control everything. Because of course such a wise and benevolent entity would understand how important it was to do vivisection on humans to see how things work. The pursuit of knowledge was all. And those who were “lessers” should just get with the program and understand that their being thrown into the maw of the machine was a good thing.
That they would end up being ground up themselves never crossed their minds because while they were intelligent they were not very smart and certainly not wise.

I remember from the book in ‘Enola Gay’ that when they were looking at Oppenheimer they had the wrong guy. The author of the book stated that a scientist named David Greenglass was an actual Soviet spy, passing atomic secrets to the Soviets, not Oppenheimer.
There were 100’s of American spies in Washington DC during the war working for Uncle Joe Stalin..

Back in the day, Oppenheimer was regarded with the Rosenberg’s and Klaus Fuchs. The left never forgets its heroes.
