I do not believe it was staged.
Possibly they landed on something up there they thought was the moon. Pluto was a planet and that changed.
If you told me everything is a lie I would not be surprised nor worried. I'm old and know where I'm going. And I've lived through many government lies and cover ups.

I saw someone lament the other day these kinds of responses to these kinds of threads, and I get it, but...you simply will not convince these people otherwise.

Not quite. All of the hardware is sitting in museums, and we understand how it works, so the technology is not "lost".
The tooling was lost, some of the blueprints were lost, all of the factories (which belonged to private companies, remember) were repurposed to build new things, etc. Once Uncle Sam stops signing the checks, people, their buildings, and their machines move on to new things.
One thing to remember is that manufacturing has changed dramatically since that time. All of the engines for the Saturn V, for example, were basically built by hand by skilled craftsmen. (You can even see on some parts where a man running a drill press made a mistake and started drilling a hole in the wrong place!)
Nobody builds stuff like that anymore. Drafting isn't done on drafting tables, calculating isn't done on slide rules, etc. Computers changed everything.
I’m just saying that it’s pathetic that we couldn’t do it today even if we had a reason to do it.
Well, unless the federal government changes their minds again, the current plan is to go back in a few years. But it's still the case that going to the moon won't pay for itself, so I doubt the effort can be sustained.
Why can’t they BOTH be true?
I believe that we DID go to and land on the moon.
I can also absolutely believe the feds did a complete video shoot and that may be what was broadcast.
In case ANYTHING went wrong. Blew up on the way, crashed on moon landing etc. We could say WE DID IT!
Then there was that fake transponder that would respond to pings from ground stations, including amateur radio operators all over the world. Then those dang laser reflectors, they spontaneously appeared on the moon right at each fake landing site. The best is those fake LEM landing stages that have been photographed by Japanese, Chinese, and Indian orbiters.

Bigfoot wouldn’t help them fake it. I just saw a special on the Travel Channel about how Bigfoot can teleport from one dimension to another so clearly he could teleport someone to the moon.
I'd guess you are not familiar with the state of the art in movie special effects in the 1960s. Digital photography didn't exist. Photoshop and its movie counterparts didn't exist.

For me, discussions of the moon mirrors for measuring distances are reasonable evidence that the moon landings have not been faked.

In addition, the Europeans and the Soviets would have easily detected and revealed the lack of an actual US manned Moon landing.

Government, Healthcare, academia. All hopelessly dysfunctional organizations cause all are Not for profit. Iow, not accountable. I beleive my MIL of 35 years now more all the time. She has always said it was fake. After 16 years of being a federal employee, anyone who has spent that long or longer and still beleives they put a man on the moon with technology of 50 years ago is smoking something really good. Not way in the world a dysfunctional government agency could swing something like that.
The current NASA schedule is to send a manned mission to the moon in 2025, approximately 2 years from now.
The question is why no one has been back to the moon, the answer is, Why ?? Once something like a moon landing was done, what purpose would it show to go back, in those days there was no real way to stay there and potentially mine the surface for any minerals that would be of great benefit, it was very expensive and other than bragging rights and real advances in technology why do it again.
One of the reasons we are going back now, we now have the ability build a base and stay there for longer periods, the Chinese are scheduled to go as well and we want to use the moon as a potential staging place for a mission eventually to Mars.
Any serious thought the landings were faked is not really worthy of serious discussion and should be laughed at.
Think of the thousands of people involved in the Space Program in the 1060s and afterward, maybe a couple have alleged fraud, it would simply be impossible to hide such a thing.
