This NASA engineer is deeply concerned about the Van Allen belts:

the fuel issue

Already solved: RP1/LOX, LH2/LOX, and Aerozine50/NitrogenTetroxide. There may be better fuels, but those will get the job done.

Van Allen Radiation issue.

Already solved, see above. They're called "belts" for a reason.

Concern Troll is very concerned.

You don’t go through them, you go around them.

Are you ignorant, gullible, or a damned liar?

What the science-illiterate fail to understand is that the most technically-challenging component of the Apollo moon missions was the Saturn V rocket, the sole purpose of which was to push a package of about 275,000 lbs (the S-IVB third stage & the command module) into orbit.

That dwarfed the mass of anything previously put into orbit by the human species, and most of the effort NASA invested in the space program from the time JFK shot off his mouth until Neil stepped on the moon was figuring how to build the 1.5-million-pound thrust F1 engines, five of which powered Saturn V's 1st stage, and that wouldn't BLOW UP (and NASA did have several test bed explosions en route to learning how to build something that could burn so much fuel so suddenly).

Saturn V had more than 2 MILLION moving parts and was (until this year) the most powerful "thing" that had ever moved under its own power. It was a technological tour de force the sheer scale of which remains mind-boggling to this day.

From a standpoint of the sophistication of the technology involved, once the third stage and command module were in orbit, the rest was a cakewalk. Which means that when the Saturn V lifted off and disappeared into the sky east of Cape Canaveral, the fact that id didn't crash somewhere in Europe is de facto proof that it made it into orbit, and the third stage was well-capable of pushing the one-ton command module the rest of the way to the moon.

So whether they realized it or not, the millions of people who watched an Apollo launch -- in person or on TV -- were witnesses to the proof that man had built an aircraft capable of putting a man on the moon. Because the hardest step by far was getting him into orbit.

The Van Allen issue is not solved.

See post 41.

The Apollo radiation readings (most of which were destroyed btw) were fake as a three dollar bill.

More detail on this huge issue:

This is the elephant in the room—those who don’t see it get to learn the hard way—of course it will be dead astronauts who pay the ultimate price.

I’m going with “ignorant AND gullible”, and a possible “damned liar”.

Or if the Dear Moon crew makes their Lunar flying before Artemis 2

Don’t forget Elvis sightings.
Heck, my cousin saw him at a EV charging station just the other day.

I gave you a video of a current NASA astronaut—and you call him “ignorant and gullible” and a “damned liar”.

Lol.

Perhaps Elon Musk’s company, SpaceX, can solve the fuel problem and Van Allen Radiation belt problem and send a Monkey to orbit the moon? Perhaps he might even be able to bring the Monkey back safely?

No, “Ignorant and Gullible” is a description of the individual who posts as “cgbg” on Free Republic.

At some point, that’s the only response these ignorant and dishonest people deserve.

Circumstantial and Factual evidence suggests we have not gone to the moon. The physical, technological, and financial limitations prevented both us and the Russians from achieving a moon landing up to this point. We may soon solve these daunting problems, however the current UFO ruse would suggest there are ulterior motives for these productions

All I do is give you links—so you are not attacking me.

You are attacking the folks on those links.

You just attacked a current US astronaut and some highly intelligent and knowledgeable scientists.

Not my problem...these folks can defend themselves.

No astronaut who presumably landed on the moon will put their hand on the Bible and swear they stepped on the moon.

Author watches “The Why Files” on Youtube and decides to ride that to a click-based fortune.

The truth is we went to the Moon. We don’t go back because the lunar module WAS shielded from the radiation and it was way too heavy to continue doing. The rocket itself and the modules for return were also way too heavy.

We don’t go back to the moon for the same reason we can’t buy a 2023 Chevelle with a 454 and a muncie rock-crusher.

The buzz lately has been this old interview with a NASA rep stating “We don’t have that technology anymore” as if to say that we were assisted by aliens or something is afoot. The rep is correct - we don’t have anything like that until Space-X came along.

I believe, for one, that we never stopped going.

“which means the Van Allen radiation belts don’t begin until you’re beyond the moon’s orbit.”

You have no idea what you are talking about, and this from a guy who was on the missions that discovered the third belt; Temporal F.
