“I’m told that only EV’s catch on fire”
Any type of vehicle is subject to bursting into flames after crashing.....EVs however have the distinction of spontaneously combusting for no apparent reason.
This happened where I am in July:
“the car wasn’t even charging when it went up in flames...”
Years ago, when I worked at the Tyrone mine in New Mexico, the electrical shop burned down because of a faulty space heater.
Fully EV cars (BEV’s) are less liable to catch on fire than ICE cars. However, a legitimate criticism is that once an EV catches on fire it’s harder to put out.
Was the driver Black, or just blackened?
“a legitimate criticism is that once an EV catches on fire it’s harder to put out”
The way I understand it you CAN’T put out an EV fire, which is why the houses are a total loss as well.
Which makes me wonder, when an EV catches fire, destroys itself and burns down the house of the garage it was parked in, who do you call, your auto insurance carrier or your homeowners insurance carrier?.......either way, personally, I’d rather not find out first hand.
If it was Georgia, just football players racing.
“sending the car careening into the Firehouse Subs building”
I blame Driver’s Ed programs for failing to teach proper careening techniques. They just skip right over that.
The local news just showed video footage from the gas station next door......thst car was doing every bit of 100 mph when it hit the building.
UPDATE:
go to 1:04 of the video......any guesses as to speed at impact?
I say around 100 mph
At least ...................Instant death................
Damn…
A Gladstone Divorce . . .
