Progressive calls for climate emergency swell after Biden says he ‘practically’ declared one (only 7.41 years left)

resident Biden’s comment that he had “practically” declared a climate emergency is reigniting calls on the left for him to actually take such action.

The White House has not announced any explicit climate emergency declarations. Biden appeared poised to do so last year when talks on his signature climate legislation stalled, but he did not ultimately take the step.

After the president was asked during a recent Weather Channel interview if he was prepared to declare a climate emergency, however, he at first said he already had. When pressed, he said he had done so “in practice” and practically speaking.

Progressive lawmakers and advocates alike have seized on that comment in a renewed push for a declaration.

“Well then just do it already,” tweeted Justice Democrats, a group that tries to elect progressives.

“Declaring a climate emergency would help save lives & our environment” Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) tweeted. He specifically touted the potential for bans on crude oil exports, expanded renewable energy manufacturing and disaster relief under such an emergency.

In a tweet about the devastating Maui wildfires, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.) also called for a declaration.

“We must declare a climate emergency and advance the urgent policies necessary to confront the climate crisis and save lives,” she tweeted.

On the other hand, some Republicans used the comment to criticize Biden’s agenda.

GOP presidential candidate Sen. Tim Scott (S.C.), for instance, told Fox News that instead of making a climate emergency declaration, Biden should have been “declaring the actual emergency, which is the emergency at our border.”

In remarks to reporters Monday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre touted the president’s accomplishments on climate change and said he has “called” climate change an emergency “since day one.”

Horizontal sez all of the illegal aliens are here to find relief from the devastating climate emergency. Mission accomplished. Close call. They almost perished. Is it a very smart move to lockdown the country the illegals escaped to and invaded? Is this what all of the chicom bribes were for? (Hussein knows.) And since this emergency is global, wouldn't the rest of the globe have to join in?

The commies are on the march.

The fires in Hawaii are going to be used to push global warming. As are the ongoing fires in Canada.

And as of today, a hurricane is heading for Southern California, which is a rare event. That too will be used to push global warming/climate change. They will lecture us, that hurricanes never hit California, and the only reason this could happen is global warming, and we better pass the green new deal, etc. etc. I can hear Ocasio-Cortez now lecturing us on this.

Personally, I don’t think declaring a Climate Change emergency is enough.
Biden should put all sources of carbon pollution on Double-Secret Probation.

That would include power plants, cows, and yes, me and you.

The president falsely said during an interview with the Weather Channel that
he had “practically speaking” declared a climate emergency. He, of course, hasn’t.......yet.

But should he do so, he could issue tyrannical edicts with absolute power and would be able to autocratically “deploy around 130 different new powers,” says Climate Depot’s Marc Morano.

Operating under emergency climate powers, a president could:
<><> halt “the export of crude oil …
<><>phase out all exports and imports of fossil fuels entirely …
<><>stop issuing permits for offshore oil and gas wells under already existing leases
<><>halt all drilling immediately …
<><>marshal funding under the DPA
<><>be empowered to deploy clean energy –
<><> like rooftop solar installations on low-income housing.

There have been 4 tropical “hurricanes” in CA since 1858. The 1939 hurricane made landfall with 100 MPH gusts and a lot of rain. It is rare but it does happen. Also, we live in PA and I have only seen two hurricanes in my lifetime make landfall.

Progressives don’t have enough control of us now. They want more. Time to say no to their designs.

“And as of today, a hurricane is heading for Southern California, which is a rare event. That too will be used to push global warming/climate change.”

I’m actually at the beach in Southern California in Orange County at the moment and it’s been non-stop hurricane porn on all the news media. What they don’t mention is that the weather forecasts do not say that a hurricane will be arriving but a heavy storm just like last winter.

The media attempt to induce climate panic is nothing new along with the weather.

In 1992 in the San Fernando Valley the Sepulveda Basin received nine inches of rain in a single afternoon and portions of the basin were under 20 feet of water.

AOC is laying low since we found out she owes a couple of bucks on her student loan.(which is her real motivation for pushing student loan forgiveness.) Cute, right?! She’ll resume her farcical outrage over “climate” nonsense asap. They’ve only got 7 years left to make middle class Americans into slaves of the elite. No time to waste. We will be slaves and own nothing and like it.

We could declare a craziness emergency and lock down crazy people. Of course most city people don’t get out much anyway so what’s the point?
