Nike is permanently closing its beloved Portland factory store — one year after it shuttered the location because of theft problems.
The retail giant — like so many other major brands — has taken a hit to its bottom line due to a dangerous surge in petty theft shoplifting and organized retail crime.
local news station KGW-TV reported thieves were “stealing armloads of Nike merchandise and walking out the front door with no fear of being stopped.”

I was trying to open a package for a consumer item that was designed to thwart in-store theft. But why bother protecting the package when thieves can simply walk out of the store with it, take it home, and open it there?
All the theft “loss” expenses are passed on to consumers, which is something we don’t need in this era of high inflation. Just saying.

They will simply refuse to acknowledge it. I worked around lots of liberals; they don’t ever take responsibility for their own failures. After all, they view themselves as being morally and intellectually superior to everyone else.

Oregon is a mail in ballot only state, has been for decades , they announce the results of elections before the ballots are even counted (not even joking)
Portland has been losing population the last few years. Don’t know how long it will last but it’s definitely a trend.
