Organized shoplifting is a $100-billion problem. Here's why we're all screwed

• Corporate America is finally waking up to the fact that woke policies on crime are costing them billions.

Organized shoplifting efforts and flash mobs of robberies across the country caused businesses $100 billion in losses in 2021 and have only gotten worse since then according to the National Retail Federation. As former Home Depot CEO Bob Nardelli recently put it, Biden’s America has become a "lawless society."

And a lawless society is bad for business. Big companies, from Whole Foods, Walmart and Walgreens to Nordstrom, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Lululemon and more have all suffered. Mom-and-pop businesses have suffered too.

While all businesses factor in some amount of loss from theft, euphemistically called "shrink" in the industry, this recent phenomenon reaches a whole new level. As a result, companies have closed stores, revised earnings estimates, and taken hits to their top and bottom lines, resulting in loss of shareholder value and harm to the communities they serve.

But why is this happening now? The answer is simple: George-Soros-backed rogue prosecutors. In big cities across the country, these so-called public servants refuse to prosecute petty thieves and even go so far as to call their illegal behavior "quality of life" crimes which, according to them, don’t harm anyone.

That’s a lie.

Not only do these crimes hurt businesses, large and small, they also harm the people who work in those businesses and the city residents who shop at those businesses. When businesses shutter because of the unacceptable risks and loss caused by repeated thefts, the local residents who used to shop in those stores can no longer do so and have to travel longer distances (and pay higher prices) as a result. Worse still, people who used to work in those stores have to find new jobs or go on unemployment.

It’s looting during business hours. Looters should be shot. Really shoplifting is no different than looting except there is no breaking and entering.

How many of these big businesses promptly fell in line with and funded BLM, “Defund Police,” antifa, Soros DAs, “social” justice, and all the other woke crap in 2020? They poured tens of billions of dollars into their own destruction but were too stupid to see where it would end.

Shoplifting has a lot more impact than so called climate change. Libs are super paranoid about our future clinate maybe of 2040. While being oblivious to theft and shoplifting. Partly due to the racial angle.

Biden and his marxists want people suffering. They know absolutely nothing about creating anything, let alone maintaining something. They can only destroy because they resent the people who created society.

“Organized shoplifting is a $100-billion problem.”

If that much, then it far exceeds what the Mafia was doing at their peak, and we were able to deal with the Mafia, and those laws (RICO) still exist.

If any folks live in cities where crime is high, another thing they do is sit in the parking lot, watch for single women or older folks with a cart load of food to come out, drive their car to the woman’s, block her in, and rob her cart en mass. So just be aware of your surroundings, wheel, your cart back to the store before the vehicle thugs jump out if you can, and call out for help. This seems to be a rising method that cowardly thugs are using these days

Shoplifters need to be tazed on the spot by trained and authorized store employees who are big and burley. Then put in stocks outside the entrance. Same as Ye old stocks of early America. Where Walmart shoppers can throw rotten eggs at the culprit give him some good slaps in the face. A few heads on pikes, by the entrance for the violent shoplifters, especially ones who pull knives.

We have videos. Maybe we need to increase the consequences on shoplifting. First offense, one year in prison. Get Rudy Giuliani in charge. He'll have the place cleaned up in no time.

Even in areas where prosecutors take a tough stance on crime, retail corporate management has discovered that allowing shoplifting is often less costly and less risky than attempting to prevent it.

Retail stores have started to move to the “Service Merchandise” store model. Remember those from the 90s. Non functional products on display, order n wait for it to come down the conveyor. Today u order on line, inspect in an enclosed secure booth, pay or return product, then you’re allowed to leave.

Shoplifting occurs when an individual walks into a store, conceals one or two items under their clothing, and walks out. When dozens of thugs run into a store, scoop up thousands of dollars worth of merchandise, then run out, that's not shoplifting, it's looting.

Home Depot’s corporate policy is not to pursue or physically intervene to stop shoplifters.

Hopefully the Service Merchandise model will not degrade to the Soviet three-queue system:

1. Stand in line to try on a jacket.

2. Stand in line to pay for the jacket.

3. Stand in line to receive the jacket.
