Hoodie-loving John Fetterman will now HAVE to wear a shirt and tie in the Senate: Joe Manchin's resolution enforcing formal wear is unanimously adopted

The great sartorial scandal over John Fetterman's signature hoodie-and-shorts has now come to a close after the Senate unanimously passed a resolution enacting a formal dress code.

The resolution, brought forth by fellow Democrat Sen. Joe Manchin, W. Va., passed without a formal vote by unanimous consent and clarified that the Senate floor would have a formal dress code.

Hours earlier, Fetterman had already announced he would wear a suit and tie while speaking or presiding over the Senate floor. Fetterman, like others, could still wear his trademark garb and vote from the cloak room on the edge of the Senate floor.

'Though we've never had an official dress code, the events over the past week have made us all feel as though formalizing one is the right path forward,' Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said on the Senate floor.

Last week Schumer had eliminated the unofficial dress code, prompting outcry from conservatives and even some liberals.

'For 234 years, every senator who has had the honor of serving in this distinguished body has assumed there was some basic written rules of decorum, conduct and civility, one of which was a dress code,' said Manchin.

But because the dress code didn't really exist, Manchin and Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, decided to write one.

Earlier this week Fetterman called on his colleagues to get as fired-up about New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez's bribery indictment as they were about his outfits.

'This week, I hope to see my colleagues fully address the alleged systemic corruption of Senator Menendez with the same vigor and velocity they brought to concerns about our dress code,' Fetterman said in a statement Tuesday.

A swing and a miss. I believe the word that he wanted to use, because he had heard something like it before, was “voracity”.

There was nothing fast about democrats voicing concern about bribery.

“The John Fetterman costume will be a big hit for Halloween here in a month.”

I’m in mine right now! All I need is a name tag that says “Senator Fetterman it/its”.

The fact this is even an issue is ridiculous

The fact is that Congress is ridiculous. The Repugnant side are lying, uniparty cowards who couldn't lead a flock of sheep. The RAT side? Hank Johnson? Max Waters? This Fetterman retard? Etc.

America is not long for this world. Another 25 years? More? Less? Cf. my tagline. God is not pleased.

LOL, like Billy Crystal once described in his "Mahvelous" stage show (imitating some New York radio personality who spoke like he had a throat full of gravel) how for father's day, you could order the "Necktie cake" which used to be the same as the "Whale cake" with different decoration...

We can now order the Fetterman costume, which used to be the Uncle Fester costume. Fetterman > Fester? A coincidence?

The Senate dress code being restored only means that Fetterman can’t wear his hoodie and big shorts attire on the floor, so he’ll just keep voting from the doorway of the cloakroom. No mingling on the floor or gaveling in and out during a pro-forma in that outfit, though.

They should have let them wear whatever they wanted; truth in advertising and all.

...but they can't have the peons see the actors and actresses out of costume. The childish minions of the Left need to continue to believe that the priests of the government pseudo-religion are smarter and more capable than them.

If the formal dress code applies to all Senators, does that mean the 40+ woman from New Mexico can’t dress like a strip club hostess anymore? That would also keep Dr. Jill from wearing her special outfits as well.

The women all need to wear sleeved dresses.

They look like they are at a cheesy cocktail party in the sleeveless dresses that are higher than knee level
