Las Vegas police have arrested a man in the deadly 1996 drive-by shooting of Tupac Shakur, a long-awaited break in a case that has frustrated investigators and fascinated the public ever since the hip-hop icon was gunned down on the Las Vegas Strip 27 years ago.
Duane “Keffe D” Davis was arrested early Friday morning, although the exact charge or charges were not immediately clear, according to two officials with first-hand knowledge of the arrest. They were not authorized to speak publicly ahead of an expected indictment later Friday.

It only took 27 years.
Next up, Biggie’s killer…
I think that was called a cold case.
Possibly related.
What is the deal with rappers and killing each other anyway? I remember rap use to be about break dancing, gold chains, Kangol hats, then I guess Democrats got involved and brought in the criminals and rewrote the culture so they kill each other and promote that to kids.
As I remember, Tupac did not die immediately but had emergency surgery, more surgeries and a gradual collapse of organ function over a few days before they turned off the machines and let him go.
Gang affiliations mostly. And early hip-hop recording companies were sketchy AF.

It’s got to be based on the testimony of an informant. What other evidence for a drive by murder could there be after 27 years?
Then went really downhill when the major record companies took it very.
How many years will it take the Las Vegas police to figure out the 2017 concert shootings?
Tupac responded by releasing a new album.
The investigation didn’t formally begin until the conspiracy theory about how Tupac was actually still alive died down. /rimshot

Yes, Sylvia Robinson was a real gangster.
Stone Cold Medina...............
Rappers had a tendency to talk badly about each other, especially East Coast-West Coast so some of it was establishing cred. They were usually connected to either Crips or Bloods and they were honor bound to kill each other.
Plus Biggie was just an evil dude
Didn’t they go all ganster to appeal to suburban white teenagers?
What did Tupac ever do to you?
Well, OK then.
