The billions of dollars are not “wasted”.
They are given to the wealthy and powerful who use it to rule over us.

I vote for “asylum” being the trigger word, too.
Either because it implies “crazy” people belong in 20th century “insane asylums,” or because they don’t want to confuse readers with the “asylum” status” of the oppressed migrants flooding across the borders.
Amusing that “asylum” was probably intended as a kinder and gentler word in 1900. Otherwise they would have been sent to the madhouse.

How was your comment relevant to original post?
Notice the msm never talks about austerity as a way of getting our budget in order. There’s no cut in spending whatsoever. This tells me the elites know full well we are beyond saving the financial system and they just intend to keep spending until we eventually go bust. I’d advise keeping your wealth in hard assets.
