Yeah, I enjoyed it. It was based upon Baltimore’s homicide unit, not sure if it was filmed there, but I assumed it was. Baltimore was close to D.C. when I lived in No. Va. at the time is was on.

I thought maybe he already passed away at the beginning of the year, but that was Lance Reddick from “The Wire.” Both 1962-2023. Too young. RIP

First time I saw him was in “Glory.” Never watched Brooklyn Nine-Nine though.
RIP Andre.

We’ve been binging early seasons of Brooklyn 99 lately. Have to be quick on the fast forward but same as any contemporary tv
I recommend the episode called ‘the box’

B 99 has some issues but it has some very good comedy and good story lines.

I remember his role as a detective on “Homicide: Life on the Street.” RIP, Andre.

Homicide: Life on the Street was a great television show about police officers and crime. Way better than usual formulaic police procedurals that air on network television.
It’s a shame that it’s not available on any streaming platform.

One of the episodes from "Homicide: Life on the Street" that best illustrates Braugher's acting chops was "Three Men and Adena" from Season 1. Available on DVD and here:

Loved him in Homicide: LotS.
Am I crazy or do I remember him having a stroke during his tenure on that show? IIRC, it was mild enough he continue in his role.

It was based upon Baltimore’s homicide unit, not sure if it was filmed there, but I assumed it was. Yes, it was filmed in Baltimore. I came across filming several times. One time in particular I was walking from the parking lot to my office building several blocks away and walked past a small side street. I saw police cars then heard someone yell “Get down! He’s got a gun!” and I dove behind a parked car.
Then I heard someone yell “Cut” and realized, now also noticing the camera crew, that they were filming a scene. I also worked for a cabinetry supply company for a while and the production co was one of our customers.

+1 on “City of Angels” - a movie I always enjoy albeit for a personal reason.
My wife, literally the “girl next door” had a striking resemblance to a young Meg Ryan. Sadly, she lost a battle with breast cancer at 28 and I suddenly became Mr Mom to my girls, 4 and 1, at the time.
So bitter-sweet memories when watching “City of Angels” and seeing a young “Meg Ryan”.
