Malibu, California CNN — Bridget Thompson says she should be dead.
If not for a late cheer team meeting on a Tuesday night in October, the Pepperdine University senior would have been with her four best friends — three were her roommates — heading to an off-campus mixer.
“I should have been there and I usually would be there,” Thompson said. “I can just picture them in the car on the way there. I know they were listening to music and I know they were singing along.”
The girls parked and were walking along the Pacific Coast Highway when prosecutors say a BMW going 104 miles per hour slammed into several parked cars before hitting and killing Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir and Deslyn Williams – all Pepperdine seniors.
Thompson was on her way to meet up with the girls when a friend texted to say they couldn’t be found.
“I couldn’t get past where the police were,” Thompson said. “I just stood out there till 3 a.m. that night just calling any hospital.”
The next morning an email from the school confirmed the news that “literally crushed my world,” she said. “It feels like four huge holes in my heart.”
Deslyn was Thompson’s “first friend” at Pepperdine; Niamh “was like my other half”; Asha was “wise beyond her years”; and Peyton was “the most selfless person I ever met,” Thompson told CNN. “I cry all day… I really feel alone because it’s literally just me,” she said. “But I’m thankful that I could be here to make a change for them.”
Clockwise, from top left: Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Deslyn Williams and Asha Weir.

That collision occurred not far where the drunk driving illegal alien killed the, “A Christmas Story” director and his son a few years back.
Why do people speed in that area?...................
It’s LA...Everyone drives way too fast for conditions and their skill level...One residential area I lived in, vehicles routinely traveled at 50++ miles per hour in a RESIDENTIAL neighborhood.
You’d slow down to pull in your driveway and these lunatics would be honking their horns because people dared to slow down to pull in their driveways. It was a mad house.
I’m not seeing anything about the maniac driver. I wonder why?
Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?
-George Carlin
The driver must be a protected species.
We have the same in our neighborhood in Reno. Not just kids either. 25 zone and 50 and up are not uncommon. Drag racing up hill three across? Yup! Being passed and nearly to boned turning in driveway is not unheard of. Cops? Once in a while they venture out.
The real tragedy is that if Bridget had joined the group, the space-time continuum would have been altered, perhaps enough to prevent this massacre.
I have seen movies where that was the premise.
But, if she had, there might be even worse consequences.
An imbalance in the space-time continuum will have to be offset somehow or another...............
Yes. They would have been an hour later.
The problem is less about the ‘broken road’ (a ridiculous premise) than the culture in CA, as evidenced by this LA Times headline:
“What caused speeding BMW to crash, killing 4 Pepperdine students? Dueling claims amid murder charges”
Considering that the speed limit for the road at the crash site was 45mph, the question posed by LAT is both nonsensical and insulting to ‘normal’ Americans.
Here’s evidence to my statement:
“Bohm was originally charged with gross vehicular manslaughter but was released due to insufficient evidence.”
He was later ‘re-arrested’. See here
He has been identified:

Good one...
If consistent which is never the case, the Left in their delusional response should call for banning BMW’s because they are so dangerous and keep injuring and killing people...
We’d be miles ahead if we just banned the left.

Well, whoever he/she is, I hope they nail them to the wall. Such a waste of four budding lives. They look like they were very sweet girls.
I’ve driven that road a hundred times. There are signs warning you and posted speed limit signs. More signage will achieve nothing. LA has more idiots per capital than anywhere else. You safest solution is to GTFO.
We have bump strips on certain highways that are speeder frequent................
Can not read the article. Was he re-arrested and NOT
out on bond?
