Went to visit a friend a week ago. Last minute so we all decided to order sandwiches from a small local well established restaurant.

3 people, three sandwiches with a side each (fries/O rings) but no beverages. The bill was $75! We were astonished.

That would buy 6 sandwiches with sides about 4 years ago.

So, yeah, you caused 100% inflation but last month it was only 3 percent (if you leave out things like housing, fuel, insurance etc).

Yes,the Globe had the best Sunday sports section, before the internet. Never bought it during the week but every Sunday morning I would walk to the store to pay 75 cents for the thickest sports section around. I was a sports junkie Red Sox ,Bruins, Celtics and the lowly Patriots. Now I wouldn’t even use it to line a bird cage. The owner John Henry is a pinko commie. As for sports I haven’t paid attention to the Red Sox and Celtics for years. I still listen to the Pats on the radio. The Bruins are my last real sports vice but the NHL is just a ghost of it’s glory days in the 70’s and 80’s.

Exactly, Inflation is the the rate of prices increasing from last year or last month. When inflation goes down, it does not bring prices down. Deflation is the lowering of prices. We have had a few years of inflation. If we have low inflation or their new favorite word, “disinflation”, prices never revert back to what they were. It takes deflation for prices to fall. We are not close to deflation. In fact we are not close to disinflation which is when prices stay the same for two years. People are angry with Biden because they see the prices are much higher than when Biden took office. The economy is not better. Wages are a little higher. Prices are a lot higher.
