Plus it's unconstitutional so it's likely the SCOTUS is going to overturn the TikTok ban. So the Senate may conclude that it's a waste of their time.
They need 60 for the filibuster.
Scrap the bill and make it more narrow.

It should be a SIMPLE bill along the lines of:
This bill would BAN the website TikTOk form being available in the United States.
That's all you would need. But the fact that there is probably 345 pages to the bill means they have other ideas, and this is a ruse.
This is on a glide path. If Trump forcefully came out in favor and pushed to use this against the networks if reelected it MIGHT give some Rats pause...

I don’t like it when they do the “determination of the president... “ type bills.

By far the biggest pushers of this TikTok ban are the ADL and other Jewish orgs. They are really upset what younger posters are posting and think.
Senate is not taking it up just yet but at least if they do they will have to set aside time for it and there will be more of a debate

I am not a fan of Tik-Tok. I do not go there and also realize it is a function of the Chicoms. If they can ban Tik-Tok it is just one step away to banning Free Republic or other conservative sites. I do not like Tik-Tok but am against banning Tik-Tok.

This is a huge platform to communicate conservative, libertarian views to a younger generation. Why doesn’t Congress pass a bill to require identification for porn and voting.
