Free Republic Straw Poll (February 2016 edition)
Free Republic | February 1, 2016 | 2ndDivisionVet

Posted on 01/31/2016 10:22:08 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

If you had to vote in your state primary/caucus today, knowing what you know now about the various declared and probable candidates, who would you vote for? Why? Who would you like to see as the running mate for your preferred candidate? If you could help staff your candidates cabinet and other top appointments, who would you choose? If you could recommend different congressional leaders than we have now, who would they be? And who would you like to see on the Supreme Court and why? And finally, feel free to donate to Free Republic.

Trump for President because he is a loyal, patriotic American citizen. He has the only resume of those running to do the job required to take back America. He can and will win the general election. Everything else to do with selections for his cabinet etc. are up to him because he knows what resume requirements he needs and wants.

Trump
Cruz, first as USAG to undo all the damage to state sovereignty and state abridgment of constitutional rights that the corrupt executive branch, particularly the Department of Justice has done. Cruz can then go to the Supreme Court.

Patriots, please bear in mind that the only reason that citizens are intensely concerned about who the next president will be is the following. They evidently do not understand that most of the federal governments domestic policy is based on 10th Amendment-protected state powers, and state revenues uniquely associated with those powers, that low-information voters have unthinkingly allowed the corrupt feds to steal from the states.

And speaking of voters, if the states had let the electoral college work as the Founding States had intended, and had likewise let the state legislatures continue to uniquely control the Senate as the founders had intended, then citizens would probably have to guess who the current president is.

So until patriots wake up and exercise their voting muscle to ”force” corrupt Congress back into its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited power cage, they can continue to be walked on by the unconstitutionally big federal government.

”Cherish, therefore, the spirit of our people, and keep alive their attention. If once they become inattentive to the public affairs, you and I, and Congress and Assemblies, judges and governors, shall all become wolves. It seems to be the law of our general nature.” - Thomas Jefferson (Letter to Edward Carrington January 16, 1787)

Why not Cruz.

The VP has to be unquestionably NBC, which Cruz is not. Deal breaker.

But then Trump would have to look at her face all the time.

I'll bet you'd be amazed how pretty she'd suddenly be, if she was VP. Happiness can do wonders for a person's appearance.

Carly Fiorina is someone who’s got the right sort of grit and steeliness to make an effective VP, and, like Trump, she’s also a former Chief Exec from the private sector. I’ve honestly liked a lot of what she’s contributed to the debates, and think she has what it takes to serve Trump admirably (despite the barbs they’ve traded in the campaign).

I have said many times that we should not be shocked if Trump goes with Carly because despite the hate for her on this site and trump's horse face comments she would bring a lot to his ticket as VP. She is considerably smarter than the most of the other candidates and actually communicates very effectively. The HP victims though quite vocal are a small group like freepers. As much as I love Sarah she adds noting to the ticket as VP, need here elsewhere for sure.

Trump.

Can’t come up with a VP pick that satisfies me yet.

If Joe Arpaio was younger I’d say him for sure.
