With Democrats set to reclaim control of the House in January and President Trump already infuriating them with the forced resignation of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, speculation is rampant over whether they will use that power to pursue impeachment against the president -- or even Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, who wants to be speaker, has pushed back on pressure from the base to pursue impeachment, saying earlier this week "that's not what our caucus is about" even as Democratic lawmakers make clear they will pursue other investigations of the administration.
But that pressure from the left to wield the House majority to go after Trump has not gone away.
Billionaire Tom Steyer, who has floated the possibility of a 2020 presidential run and pumped millions into supporting Democratic congressional candidates, told CNN on Wednesday that House Democrats must confront what he called a “lawless” president.
He renewed his call for impeachment proceedings. Steyer months ago launched the “NeedtoImpeach.com” website and is one of the most prominent liberal advocates for ousting Trump....

They can impeach, but it takes 67 votes in the Senate to convict.

What will they impeach them for?

No, he cannot be impeached for that. They have to process impeachment documents with evidence of high crimes and misdemeanors. Since Trump hasn’t had any, there is nothing to impeach him on.
On the other hand, opening DOJ investigations regarding accounting fraud from Maxine Waters, leaking classified information to Schiff, to whatever Cumming and Nadler did could lead to serious criminal charges. In addition, Feinstein, Schumer and Blumenthal could have charges presented to the DOJ with evidence that they committed sedition.
But really, I would go after the DNC and the MSM for colluding to take down a duly elected President and bring both up on charges of sedition. Just subpoena all records relating to talking points.
We now have an impeachment proof majority in the Senate. Let the Lib Loonies play their games.

And there is going to be information coming out on the Russian collusion scam that will embarrass the Dems and hopefully, put some of them in jail.
They are going to launch the investigation of him due to his defense of himself. They are saying he doesn’t have the ‘temperament’ to be a SCOTUS Justice. They will get the votes in the House because Dems ALWAYS vote in lockstep.
Define ‘high crimes’;
Define ‘misdemeanor’.
Democrats will define both according to whatever criteria they chose and no amount of common reading of law or the Constitution or even common sense will apply. Get used to hearing lies shouted as truths for the next two years or more.
No investigations will be opened on any Democrat or charges brought, but you are free to hold your breath until that happens.
Reason: any such charges would play badly with Independents and squishy men and women who (other than voter fraud) determine election outcomes. Bringing Charges would destroy DJT’s 2024 election chances (Conservatives would cheer, but Independents would be disgusted and vote for the underdog maligned Democrats).
I wish they would try impeachment. It will never get by the senate. The heat will be on all of the non-crazy democrat congressmen. Will they go along and expose their idiocy to their constituents, or will there be a schism in the house?
With the House now being a lunatic asylum with the lunatics running it there will be an orgy of investigations and impeachment hearings little different than the spittle spewing garment rending Kavanaugh hearing. CNN and the other lickspittle media will provide unending coverage and analysis. However, I suspect that most of the American people will quickly grow tired of this circus. The vicious and slanderous attack on Kavanaugh now shown to be wholly false likely cost the Democrats the Senate and reopening these wounds will not help them in 2020. The Democrats also need to understand that is was not Trump hate that gained them the House but largely ginned up concerns about healthcare. If the voters expect healthcare to be the centerpiece of the House agenda they will be disappointed as the hearings and investigations will consume every bit of the next two years. Socialist wet dreams about Medicare for everyone even if some bill can be produced are DOA in the GOP held Senate. Look for utter chaos in the House that will pave the way for a Trump landslide in 2020
