Get a grip. I'm a mom not an alarmist.

You guys need to head back to your bunkers with the rest of the "The end is Nigh!" crowd.

I guess you want to look like fools like the 19th century folk who sold there land and bugged out to the mountain-tops.

So many assertions, so little evidence

Advocating various sexual fetishes as "normal, sane behavior" will completely destroy any type of humanity we have left. The homosexual diseases would become so bad, our health care system couldn't sustain it.
Homosexuality has always been considered a mental illness, and should be treated as such. If America wants to survive, the hoards of sewer swimmers need to be given some kind of psychiatric aid - not a valid "marriage" licenses. Sheesh!.

#12. NAMBLA would be able to legally adopt their very own boy sex slaves.

All advertising would have to include a number of gay "couples" for all products.

Ew. Parents wouldn't be able to turn the channel fast enough. Children might see them.

***Get a grip. I'm a mom not an alarmist.****

Take the time to read through some of those articles in that list I posted (especially the ones related to children) and you will indeed be looking for a place to get a grip.

A mother who want's to find out what her kids are being socialized into accepting is not an "alarminst" but rather a good mother.

And below is the actual hard data for Europe and the US on percentage of out-of-wedlock births. You can see, just by eyeballing it, that Dobson's and Kurtz's assertion that it has something to do with gay marriage is garbage on its face. The Scandanavian countries had relatively high out of wedlock birth numbers in 1980 (pre gay marriage), and still do, with the Russian Baltic Republics also shooting way up, to catch up with the gay haven neighbors. But the biggest percentage jumps are in such well known gay havens as Bulgaria, and Georgia. What a crock!

Dobson is a charleton. Always has been, always will be.

That is a non issue in this case. We are talking about the public recognition of gay sexual partners, not the legality of their sex act.

Some of the statistics Petronius is refering to are:

“Now consider a report from the Journal of Sex Research which noted that homosexual pedophiles commit about one-third of the total number of child sex offenses, even though they are outnumbered by heterosexuals 20 to one. Less than four percent of the population commits one-third of the offenses against children!”

“Or consider a study in Archives of Sexual Behavior, which found that of 229 convicted child molesters surveyed, “85 percent of offenders against males described themselves as homosexual or bisexual.”

“In the Nebraska Medical Journal Cameron said that when data from both genders are combined, homosexuals are at least 8-12 times more likely to molest children than are heterosexuals.”

I suppose that you would call me judgemental by quoting these statistics.

I noticed that you are a mom of 3 boys. I'm a mom of 2 boys myself. As a mother, you make judgments to protect your children's lives daily. Do you let them walk down a street alone in an area of town where there is 8-12 times more crime than elsewhere? Are you being judgmental of the people who live and work in that area because you don't do this?

"as all oral sex is sodomy, according to the Bible,"

Please cite chapter and verse for your allegation.

The old LEGAL definition of sodomy includes anything other than vaginal, missionary position sex, but I've heard of no biblical foundation for such a generalization--its all based on tradition...probably from the Roman Catholic church, not the bible.

The bible clearly spells out homosexual sex in both Old and New Testaments is immoral, calling it an abomination. As to what is specifially evil between a husband and wife, scripture says nothing.

Where scripture is silent, so should we be.

This is the seminal issue of our time. The effects of this legalization will reach far and wide. Freedom of speech, fugeddaboutit...see Mcain-Finegold for starters..and laws in Britain and Canada. Condemn homosexuality and you have committed a hate crime. Take the schools...once they start to treat homo and heterosexual couples as equal, there will be a huge upsurge in private and home schooling. (assuming private schools can teach homosexuality is wrong). Old pretty boy Edwards Two Americas will become true...one America going to public schools the other not. In the workplace...can you imagine the sensitivity training, etc that we will have to endure? and as the govt moves to enforce the hate crimes, speech codes, equal protection laws etc....especially with a John Kerry or Hillary Clinton as president. (bound to happen folks). And the kids...since the Bible will be seen as hate literature will the good folks from the social welfare agencies come to take away your kids for indoctrinating them with hate? After all, how are those gay couples going to get their kids if not through our great social welfare agencies. (ok thats a bit extreme). This is it gang....unfortunately Capitol Hill is full of gays as staffers on both sides of the aisle. Familiarity has bred familiarity....so I don't think our greatest deliberative body is going to do anything. I have written my Congressman/Senators and gotten the (we think the state DOMAs are good enough BS). But keep writing....we have little choice not to.

Wake up and read about what is coming to your kid's classroom...

The children are trapped, and become innocent homosexual prey. They can't even run.

Our kids are safe. We homeschool, and do back ground checks on any organization they want to join. If homosexuals are involved, I spread the word to other concerned parents.
We got a girl scout troop shut down for trying to teach "tolerance."
The local gym teacher is a lesbian, and the girls are complaining because she watches them shower. They get creeped out. They're afraid of her.
A few parents chose private school, others homeschool. Some of the girls are still trapped there. Poor kids.

the research that Dobson cites is not his own. It was presented to Congress and is also presented by National Review. What the author did (cant remember the name) was look at marraige rates before and after acceptance of homosexual marraige/partnerships. He found that scandanavians usually got married after the first kid. Once homosexual unions became accepted, there is no pretense of getting married at all in these countries. I'll find the article and post the link.

IMHO, what people like Doctor Dobson should say as one of their main arguments would be this: the state of the American family is deplorable and critical; if trends are not reversed, society will fall apart within very few generations. The largest problem is that many people have lost sight of the fact that marriage exists to join two families and start a third, and to ensure that--to the extent possible--every child has a mother and a father. Although homosexuals are not the primary cause of this decay, allowing homosexual marriage would make a bad situation worse.

Families are the material societies are built from. We used to have a brick house. Now, with easy divorce and the sexual revolution, we live in a stick house. Some folks want to run to the straw house, saying it will make us more free and equal. Dobson thinks that's a bad idea. So do I.

You got anything better in your holster than calling someone a nimrod, or are you all tapped out on brilliant rhetoric today?

So you're not only a know-it-all, you're also a prophet?

The lesbian is wrong. She's just trying to justify her perversions.
I heard a news report stating homophobia (wisdom) is increasing around the globe at an alarming rate. The propaganda is wearing off, and we're entering an age of enlightenment.
