Blacks vote in even larger percentages for liberals than (especially white) women. Perhaps the "real conservatives" should also call for the abolishment of the 15th amendment.
Don't know the history of the movement well enough to know when it started, but Western society is at least many decades into the egalitarianism that got us where we are now. There's so much pressure, worldwide, and now for mulitiple generations (the real clincher) to believe against all practical evidence that women and men are just interchangable units with slightly different plumbing. Western feminism has hopelessly clouded the issues to the extent that young people must be exceptionally strong willed to ever reach conclusions like the one we're discussing. I take the eternal perspective, ultimately; all civilizations fall for one reason or another. It's just frustrating to watch one crumble around you when you can point out some of the stressors so easily.
"I'm sure we wouldn't and that was one of the many things that comes to mind. Ever notice how long it takes a church to go from a female pastor to doing gay marriages?"
Unfortunatley it seems that a female pastor is not required to reach approval of gay marriages. Perhaps these are some of the girlie-men Arnold refers to.
Only the ones who don't GAS about what the Bible has to say.
Got anything else in your bag o' tricks?
I'll happily listen to a black male pastor anytime. But never a female one. Big difference. Ditto in politics.
It takes a lot of faith to reject the world view of males and females. The bible lays it all out but most people are not willing to believe it. If most of what calls itself Christianity doesn't except the biblical differences in male and female roles, then we know where the rest of the world is going to be on that one.
"You put words in my mouth"
No I didn't. I was making a statement that the evidence you cited wasn't sufficient to explain the decline of our republic. If you read my post again you may see what I mean.
Statements such as these...
"try not to let others' knee-jerks bother me"
"But, your point is quite valid. "Pearls" and such..."
"Yes, a lot of people go through life that way."
...are interesting. Should I be very insulted?
With your original remark about burkahs -- the obvious implication being that I have a kinship with the Taliban -- were you intending to set the table for a friendly discussion?
When you've got some time, you might enjoy reading this rabbi's online book about men, women, gender, marriage, etc... It's well worth the time. As a Christian it fascinates me to read the ancient Jewish positions on men, women, and relationships. His message cofirms what anyone with eyes can see in their own relationships. Obviously, it's written without the perspective of Grace, and I personally skipped some whole sections of Talmudic discussion that I couldn't understand; but it's excellent reading and very relevant to this topic.
Back to the original topic at hand...
As for a soccer match, you are liable to see any number of banners, wild fans, props, and maybe even a little soccer. My buds caught a match in Italy where opposing fans were tossing firecrackers over a 30 foot plexiglass divider.
However, since I am in complete agreement with the person to whom you posted, it is as if you posted your Taliban comment to me.
It's like this. When I criticize someone for having a certain set of beliefs or opinions, I also criticize everyone who holds to the same beliefs or opinions. Therefore, I will not be surprised when they respond as if I had directed my criticism at them. In fact, I welcome their contributions. The more, the merrier.
Here's a wonderful study on the subject:
thanks. will definitely check it out.
