Hey, I bet they could beat the T-bones!
I would like to see them named the Statesmen, though I don't think that's one of the preferred choices.
The Washington RIVERRATS!
Does Indianapolis have a baseball team?
Well, if you consider 2015 "long term". By that time, Las Vegas and other growing cities will be just dying for a club of their own .And long term prospects in Bal'more will be bleaker by comparison.
The Orioles will do fine financially if they win, and will not do fine if they keep sucking.
Take that last part and multiply by 10. With only 2.5 million people in the O's market, if they win they break even, if they lose they are going to bleed big time. .. Welcome to Baltimore's version of the Milwaukee Braves
GREAT Tagline, btw.

BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
And the winner is...
The amazing part of this story...is that no one ever looked back at the "old" Senators...and grasped the low turnouts/attendance. The team was owned, I will admit, by the biggest tightwad in professional baseball history...and rarely carried more than 1 real 4-star player (Frank Howard from the 1960s teams, and Harmon Killebrew from the 1950s teams). The teams from the 1920s did offer Walter Johnson, and from the 30s...there was Early Winn and Joe Cronin. But this team simply couldn't generate cash to pay for a upscale team.
My bet is that the new Senators go into town...some bigwig with hopes of a "lobby" paradise pays for a upscale team for two or three years...and then the team drifts back to low numbers. Not one single senator or congressman will ever have to pay for tickets...and the amount of deals swung in the private seating will shock people. Lets face facts...who really attends games in DC in the summertime? Most of the congress is shut down for July - August. I doubt that the stands have more than 25,000 people in them for a Saturday game in August. This team will not last there. I will bet they vacate by 2009, and likely move to Vegas.
Washington Muckrakers
I've read the Texas Rangers (formerly the W. Senators)
have the rights to the name Senators, though.
Oh, yeah, that'd be great. Maybe you could have Ana Marie Cox in the broadcast booth making baseball bat double-entendres.
"Does Indianapolis have a baseball team?"
AAA for the Expo's, I believe and they are in a new stadium also, AA sized, cap'y about 7,000.
Well wagglebee, the upper crust of our society always gets their own doctors anyway.
Let me assure you, one-tiered health care is a myth.
If you think for one minute the liberal elites running the show up here wait in an emergency room for hours like the rest of us, then I have some documents to sell you.
Actually, we all get to pick our family doctors. Problem is, many communities don't have any...they are all moving to America! Good old socialized medicine.
Washington Pork
Woo-hoo!
You know, that from a marketing standpoint, that would be an excellent idea.
