In postmortem on Kerry bid, Dems seek clues to new life
San Francisco Chronicle ^ | 11/7/4 | Carla Marinucci

Even before Sen. John Kerry took the stage of Fanueil Hall in Boston to give his concession speech, Democrats had begun soul-searching.

"We need new talent ... it's time for a new team,'' said Democratic volunteer Bruce Wiljanen, who was sitting on the second-floor balcony waiting to see his party's 2004 candidate acknowledge defeat. A Kerry or a Hillary Clinton, he said, will not reach out to the millions of Americans in the red states in the next election. "We've got to get a new manager and trade a few players," he said.

But, "do the party leaders have it in them?'' he asked, shaking his head.

In the wake of a bitter rebuff by 59 million American voters who supported the re-election of President Bush -- including many of the blue-collar workers and rural residents once the bastion of the Democratic Party -- Wiljanen's pained question echoed last week from Massachusetts to California, two of the coastal states that held fast for the Democrats.

The GOP victory, which included gains in the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate, has forced Democrats to face an unpleasant dilemma: how to resurrect a battered party and retool for the future, in the face of what appears to be a cultural and religious wave to the right.

The debate focuses on two major areas: defining the party's principles, and deciding who or what type of candidates can best deliver the message.

The DNC has not yet filed an environmental impact for the Kerry/Edwards campaign.

I have noticed after the election that oil has gone from $55 to about $47 a barrel.

How many trees were cut down for paper for the campaign.

How many SUV's and other vehicles did MOVEON.ORG use.

How much electrical energy was wasted vote for Kerry rock concerts, as well trash generated, and gas for rockers to speed to the concert (drug use intended as a pun as well as gasoline).

Maybe we should start up a new website exclusively for these kinds of articles--WeepandWhineRepublic. We can call them Weepers.

"My suggestion to the Democratic party-disband."

The party should split. Radical nuts like Pelosi, Gore, Kennedy should have their own party. Let Zell Miller and Leiberman have the other half.

They need to jettison the radical, hate filled far left of their party.

Half? I'd say they would take 75% or more.

As long as none of them get into office fine with me.

If they want to be elected become Republicans.

Thats the real problem. we have GOT to find ways to reach people who vote for these jokers. There will always be liberal politicians, but the people are the ones who put them in power. We need to start attacking liberalism before it reaches young minds. The older liberals are long lost.

Lurkers Helpful Hints For the Democrat Party:

1. Give Terry McAuliffe a lifetime contract.

2. Give Barbara Streisand and Michael Moore prominent roles in your Party.

3. Convince George Soros to donate $35 million dollars next election cycle.

4. Make sure everyone on Earth knows you think that Republicans are knuckle dragging, fag hating, witch burning, Arab murdering, subhuman morons who can only reproduce by accidently impregnating their sisters and cousins while watching NASCAR races.

5. Make sure the French like you. That'll help.

6. Nominate someone from the Northeast US next time. I'm pretty sure there's a Congressman from Vermont who'll take the job.

That's about it for now. I really just want to help after all.

They'll start showing up here trying to find a palatable middle to their base so they can lie about it in their next '06 and '08 message.

Try going with a candidate who isn't just power hungry and who isn't Anti-American and maybe they would do better.

The Dims problem is their only principal is POWER AT ANY PRICE. They never learn. They always fight the last election. In 2004 the "war Hero" candidate was suppose to inoculate them on National Security issues. In 2006 they will all be running on "values".

Note to Dims. It is NOT enough to just hate your opponents. You have to actually have a vision of how to govern. Elections are won on IDEAS, not platitudes.

And that is the fallicy of their logic: If we are such ignorant fools and peons, how can their superior intellect and the justice of their position fail to convince us?

Absolutely. And what a moral bunch of folks the 'rats, their trial lawyers, their pedophile gay mafia allies, and their Hollywood vermin are.

Their "morals" and "values" are already well on display in the democrat party's reign of terror against Republicans around the country this year.

"We need new talent ... it's time for a new team,'' said Democratic volunteer Bruce Wiljanen..

How about getting rid of the lunatics and Commies in your party for starters? I mean Commies and socialists are not exactly what the majority of people living in a free society are looking for if you get my drift. Sort of like trying to sell people ketchup to put on their ice cream. Picking a doofus who bashed our troops and sided with Communists in Vietnam, not to mention is French when we ain`t getting along too well with France lately isn`t too bright a choice to represent your party, but then whoever said `Rats are bright? Those idiots would try to sell sand in a desert.

"We've got to get a new manager and trade a few players," he said.

Yeah, and all the Chicago Cubs need is a new batboy. How about getting some morality? How about outlawing partial birth abortion? How about standing up to the NEA and supporting school choice? How about not catering to every single whim of the gay lobby? How about dropping class warfare as a policy? How about supporting a strong military? How about thinking about what is good our country instead of the what is good for the UN? This is just for starters.
