Jeunet's Amelie- Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain is a wonderful and original film. Jeunet also did the much maligned Alien Resurrection that I actually thought was stylish and well done, instead of more of the same it took it in a different direction, but American audiences didn't feel the same way I guess.

I know its fashionable to bash everything French, but I do enjoy a lot of French moviemakers, past and present. Just like some of us wouldn't want to be judged by some of leaders of our government (think when Clinton was our disgraceful president) you can't judge all Frenchmen by a few of their leaders
